When a player doesn't take care of a horse, does it simply die, or end up in the RC?

As a colt I sold isn't being fed and may die soon. Β πŸ˜•

It makes me sad to see such a fine colt neglected.

I don't what I'd do with him. His parents are going to have one other foal and he was a test breeding. I was pleased with him, so I paired his parents together, and sold him for 150k!
