Several years ago I put on the first EV “Olympic” event. I think it would be really fun to bring this back, given that there is enough interest, as it requires large-scale participation and a massive amount of time and spending on my part.
It’s my feeling that the majority of the contest section is still art, although the update has helped immensely with other forms of sustainable income. Regardless, l think play-based events are much more fun and really bring the EV community together in a more large-scale fashion.
So what I need to know from you is:
1. (Most importantly) Would you participate?
2. What would you like to see as far as prizes? (In the past this included medals to display on homepages/signatures/avatars and I plan on for sure bringing those back)
3. Would you prefer fewer large prizes, or more numerous and smaller prizes?

As of right now, these are my very basic ideas.
- Scoring based on point accumulation by 1) individual horses and 2) players’ cumulative points (total and by discipline; based only on the horses participating). Because of the cumulative score aspect, the number of participating horses would have to be limited — something along the lines of 2 per discipline with a maximum of 3 discipline choices for a total limit of 6 horses.

This is an awesome idea! I would absolutely participate! As far as prizes, I would LOVE medals for homepages and horse pages, and a little EVD prize. I would love to help in any way possible  (I can do organization, finance, score or record keeping, coding if any is needed for some reason - only thing I can't do is art).

I would love to participate! This sounds like a good idea, and I'd love to be apart of this.

To build on what you said about the medals, I think there's a way that we could take that up a notch. Maybe creating a tag with a medal colored for what the player won (ex. gold, silver, bronze), and there being a animation of a streak of light going across it.
3. Would you prefer fewer large prizes, or more numerous and smaller prizes?
Adding money prizes, art, and possibly even a high stated, rare colored, or a horse with high conformation would be a could of ideas for prizes. Also, I think that there could be tack and treat prize? Those are just a couple of ideas.

I would love to help you with creating and managing this contest, and I feel that I have some great ideas regarding ways to organize this contest!

Annabeth - The medals were color coded previously as gold/silver/bronze, but the streak of light is a great idea.
As far as prizes go, I can contribute EVD and perhaps some EVC, as well as tack and treats. Art is a possibility but unlikely unless someone else would like to donate/discount it. Same thing goes for the horses.

I think a small entry fee -- maybe 1,000 per horse -- would be appropriate to contribute to prizes. This could be waived in situations with newer players who have less to spend.
