Drawing Tablet Help

#127223 Posted on 2017-11-07 10:38:15

So I bought my first drawing tablet the other day, a Turcom TS6608, probably a bad quality but it is my first so... Any who, I am having problems like mad. I have downloaded all of the drivers and it works the way it should besides for gimp. I have gimp 2.8 and for some reason everything I googling/youtubing is not helping.

Here is what is happening:
1. It won't let me do strokes only "dots" (for all brushes, erasers, etc..)
2. When it does do the "dots" it is a lower opacity (I have the brushes set to 100% opacity)
There may be more but those are the main ones I have found

Any suggests or help will be much appreciated!

This sounds like the problem you're having, so perhaps read through there and see if there's any new info that might help. I don't have experience with GIMP, so that's the best I can do. :p

Well, it may sound ridiculous, but try to open GIMP using drawing tablet, not mouse.
On my laptop, for example, GIMP never react on pressure opacity changes if it's not run by tablet.

You may also need to configure the device in GIMP device options.

But first of all, restart your computer if you didn't (after installing the drivers). It's a must if you want to be 100% sure that the drivers are installed properly.

Hope that will help :).
