character website help

#125346 Posted on 2017-10-23 19:26:29

I'm working on a character site, using wix, but have hit a road block. when I first started, I picked the ADI helper, to get my website rolling, but am now only limited to the offered sections. I know with using wix, all by yourself, from the beginning, you have more options (tried to create a character website before, without wix's help, but was never happy with it). so, I guess my question is: is it possible to switch out of the helper, so that I can more options?

my main problem is that the offered sections don't have big enough picture slots, which cuts off my characters' refs when I upload them. I'm hoping that there is a way to pick a blank section and place the images how I'd like them on the page.

ah. I hope this actually makes sense, and isn't too scattered brained.

also, does anyone have an suggestions for website creators? I've used both weebly and wix, and am never happy with how it turns out (maybe I'm just horrible at creating websites).

I use forumotion as a host but I mostly help run or own Rp sites on it.  You can however choose from templates, and customize that.
you would have to host the images on another site, I use Imgur to hold images, but you can make as long of bios you want to go with the Images if you use posts, and make the posts as long as it will allow you. If I recall there is a huge and MASSIVE cap, if one at all.

You can use the forums to also separate your characters by category and use topics to post a Bio a peace. You can lock these forums to prevent others from posting on them, or the topics themselves

Really all the coding madness is taken out of it, and its free.

not to mention I run an Rp site, Character creation and storage is kinda what I deal in and I find doing it this way, is cost effective, and non time consuming.

I know how to fix that! Wix is the best, and the ADI is helpful, but once you choose to stop using the ADI, there is no going back.

Once you go to the site, hover over the "Site" at the top of the screen , and then it will be right there. Hope this helps!!
