Breeding

Not sure if this is in the right spot or not.

I'm trying to breed more palomino horses and I just breed two of my palomino horses together and the foal came out a different colour. Should I breed my other horses to get a palomino colouring?

Palomino is a combination of chestnut  (ee) and one cream (Crcr). To have the best chance to breed more palominos, you would want to breed a chestnut (ee crcr) and a cremello (ee CrCr). When breeding 2 palominos (ee Crcr), you can get a chestnut (ee crcr), palomino (ee Crcr) or a cremello (ee CrCr).

I'm basically repeating what North said. If you breed two palominos (ee Crcr) together your chances of getting a palomino are 50%. There's a 25% each you'll get a chestnut (ee crcr) or cremello (ee CrCr). Your best bet would be to breed the latter two colors (chestnut and cremello) together. Since the cremello has two creme genes he/she will always pass along one to the foal meaning you'll get a palomino baby 100% of the time.

Haha, thanks Sky Cat! I realize now that "best chance" could have been morr accurately worded: "guarantee"!
