Horse Creation Color Confusion

I noticed when I created my Tekes with sooty in the Equine Center, they were dark where the sooty would be. When they're created, however, it's much much lighter. None of the horses I've created in the past with this gene expressed have ever gotten as dark as what they show in the Center. Is it darker there just to show the person what sooty looks like? Or is there something else involved?

the custom horse creator preview does not show sooty accurately. since sooty was added, the opacity at which it appears on a generated (as opposed to previewed) coat is lower, meaning that sooty horses will have lighter sooty than the custom creator shows. 

it was a tweak with the coding to be more realistic, but it hasn’t been applied to the custom horse previewer.
if you report it as a bug, I’m sure it’ll be fixed soon!
