Hello, I'm looking for a good arabian, thoroughbred, or chincoteague stud.
I am focussing on breeding on these breeds.
My goal is to try for palaminos.
I know palamino is possible in most of them, but i'm unsure if it's possible in arabians.
I'd also love any helpful tips.
I breed mustang and twh as well, but got lucky enough to buy a palamino in these breeds.

Arabians come in black, chestnut, and white, because of where they live. So no palamino

And I have many good thoroughbred studs

Palomino can be a bit tricky to breed for since you need both a chestnut base coat and a single copy of the cream modifier.

unlike some colors, breeding two palominos together doesn't mean you'll get a palomino foal. You're just as likely to get a chestnut or a cremello (and possibly even black, bay, buckskin, smoky black, perlino, or smoky cream, depending on the genetics of the mare and stallion).

palominos are one of my favorite colors, so good luck! if you have any questions about foal colors, there's a great genenrics guide. i'd also be happy to help :)

I just had a failed breeding. I tried to get either a black, gray, chesnut, or cream thoroughbred. Unfortunately, i got a bay colt. I'd like to trade him for a mare that is any one of the colors i'm looking for.
If you're interested, please feel free to check him out. His name is baby boy. He's poor in his back conformation though.

Tilose, the two horses you bred would never have resulted in a grey, black, or cream foal. depending on what the genetics are of the mare, a chestnut might even have been impossible from that crossing.Β
