What are some of your current EV goals?

Hi everyone!
I'm obviously pretty new, and I'd like to get to know some of you guys.
I really love how much time it takes to get things done (levels, training, breeding etc.) and it makes it so much more satisfying. It's also really cool that you can play how you want.

Being a newbie, I'm trying to gather as many funds as possible (although, I keep buying more horses. I have an addiction already and I think I need help, haha.) I'm currently doing this through putting all my horses through riding school. I also find that I get a lot more stats that way, too. I'm not too sure about showing my horses much at this point, but I might look more seriously into it later.
Anyway, with that said, I was just curious to see what everyone's striving towards at the moment, whether it be breeding a new line of horses, a cool horse project or what have you. I'd love to hear from you :)

hello! welcome to EV!
this is the only horse sim game i've stuck with for more than a few weeks - it's definitely addicting :)

i'm always down to talk about my plethora of different projects!

my arabians,mustangs, and gypsy vanners are all stat-focused, so nothing super interesting with them.

i've got two non-stat focused herds, which are currently my favorites. the first is quarter horses. I'm trying to see how conformation is inherited, and how long it takes to breed up the conformation scores. I'm on generation four with them, and have gotten up to a score of 66. only 5 more days till generation 5!

secondly i have my color-focused gypsy vanners. my favorite color combo is homozygous roan, heterozygous splash, flaxen. i started with 16 foundies that had the colors i wanted (regardless of stat or confo) and am trying to get the perfect foal. i'm still on generation 2 with them.

i like having some non-stat focused projects in addition to the stat-focused herds. they give me more things i can achieve quickly, whereas breeding for stats is playing the long game - almost 5 months of waiting between breedings :P

Currently I'm working on my paint horse project. I spent about 6 months buying and breeding paints to get the right horses to start my line with. My goal is over several generations to breed perfect horses - unbeatable at shows, the prettiest colors & patterns, and confo above 90. I'm almost done breeding the first generation of foals and I've been super happy with how well most of them came out. Next I'll pair up the best ones to produce even better foals, and so on. It does take a long time but I love it!

I know you're more likely to get better stats in the riding schools, but I can't help showing. I love showing lol! That's what I do. I want to build my horses stats through showing while working on projects. That's really my only goal. Equiverse is my "fun" game - leveling up horses, watching foals grow up, experimenting with colours etc. The other horse games I play I'm a little more serious about (and therefore don't enjoy nearly as much haha).

I'm trying to correct the poor stats of my horses atm. I pick up a lot of the poorer (statwise) RC horses and try to breed those stats up. But my main goals are color in my Welshies, and conf in all. I'm like Valkyrie, but I try to breed my horses so that they're good show horses. ^^

I think I get more money that way, but I'm not sure, lol.

My personal goals are:

#1 - Breed a foal with 1100+ stats and low non-specialty stats;
----- Glory Diva, just wish she had lower non-specialty stats........

#2 - Breed up my foundation horses conformation within 5 generations; hopefully!
----- Most are 58+ conformation. I went private with my breeding August 2016 and will continue to stay private with my herds, some of them anyway, until I have at least 3 generations with my foundations under my belt.

#3 - Colors;
----- I want to own some of the most desired colors of any breed in my herds, which is Chestnut for Friesians for example. Flaxen (ff), Cream (Cr and CrCr), and Brown (Ata, AtAt, At+ etc.) seem to be the most desired genes at the moment.

Basically, I hope to own horses that I've bred myself preferably, that have 90+ conformation, super high stats in their discipline, and lovely colors.

I'm also pretty new :)

I'm currently doing 2 breeds. Once I get more money and have the funds perhaps I'll start another! It's fun having many projects to do to keep you busy, since as it has been pointed out, this does seem to be a slow moving game (that has its positives and negatives to it)

For my Andalusians, I'm breeding for Conformation and stats only. I've bought 2 amazing Andies with 90+ confo and 1100+ stats that are currently being put through riding school. I wish they could be showers, but whenever they enter shows (even with 5/5 on all of their tacks and when they're at the top of their current discipline level) then some how never even place... They just have not proved to be good showers! Haha but it's okay cause I just care about Stats and confo for them! looking to get some new foundies soon too.

My Quarter Horses, as of right now are going to be 100% my own lines. I won't buy from outside lines for them. My focus for them is color, with a little bit of care for stats (not as much of a focus for the stats. I'll breed for color/genetics before I breed for stats when I pair up my horses). They're also in both riding school and shows. They do super well in their western shows!

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Kahzie, it sounds like those projects definitely keep you super busy! When you figure out the conf. inheritance, I'd love to hear about your findings. I think most of my horses are stat focused, but if I see a pretty horse in the RC with a colour I don't have or a horse with slightly higher conformation I just can't really help myself. I'm doomed, I know I'm stuck with them until they die of old age because I don't think I can give any of my horses up. Haha. I think other projects aside from stats are really interesting, I'm sure they give quite the sense of accomplishment, too.

Sue that sounds really awesome. Congratulations on your new foals! I'd love to start my own line of GVs with similar outcomes eventually. If you don't mid me asking, how long did it take for you to get the right horses to breed?

I'm not really sure how the whole showing process goes at the moment. I've entered a couple of my horses, mainly my two foundations but I don't really know if they're very good or not! I guess it's a bit of trial and error :) I'll probably enter them more often as I go along. Is there more money involved in showing the higher rank your horses are? I'll have to do some research I think.

Feathered your horse is super pretty. I love her colours. Best of luck on your breeding!

Saber, hello fellow semi-new player! :) I have two different breeds at the moment too. My main are GVs, which I train daily and I'm currently trying to get their stats up, my others are Friesians which I'm just putting into riding school for the money so I'm really not doing much with them at the moment, but I might think about doing something more with them later on.
Any reason why horses with high stats etc. don't do well in shows? Is it the competition they're up against or is it just luck of the draw? Congrats on starting your own lines, you sound like you're doing really well!

I'd be happy to share my findings! it really does seem to be an average, leaning heavily toward the higher parent.

and i do love my non-stat projects, because they're more "instant gratification", even if instant means a few weeks compared to a few months :P

@MissTess Thanks! I got lucky when I first started on EV and found a player who was selling amazing Paints at great prices, so I bought several of those and then just kept checking horses for sale to find Paints who weren't related to the ones I had that had good stats & genes and decent confo. I was really picky about it so it took about 6 months until I had enough to make good pairings. I actually wish I had waited a bit longer because after making my pairs and starting breeding I learned some things about how breeding works in the game that if I'd known sooner I would have done my pairs differently. My project will still turn out well so it's not a problem, but I'm a perfectionist so knowing that I didn't pair my horses perfectly bugs me a little, lol.

Short Term Goals::
1. Get all of my horses to the same age
2. Find better organization for my horses
3. Start working on silver genes

Long Term Goals::
1. Have great colors, amazing stats, and even better conformation
2. Have a large variety of specific traits (patterned, solid, roan, silver, flaxen, anything-goes [meaning any combination of the previously mentioned])
3. Increase my herd of Gypsies (obviously LOL)
4. Eventually be able to breed and sell desirable foals
5. Manage to make beaucoup cha-ching (lots of money)
6. Eliminate any grey genes in my current herd
7. Start collecting more cream and dun gene horses

Mine at the moment is just to get back into the game. Lol.

But also breed by TWH so that their non speciality stats are really low!

My current goal is confirmation!
I am starting with 3 breeds: Dutch Warmbloods, Thoroughbreds, and Trakehners.
I am using 4-7 breeding pairs for each of foundation horses with at least 59+ confo!

I feel like it will be a slow project but I think its a good goal!

Short term I need to get all of my horses to the same age, which is hard when I am very impatient.

I am trying to breed for conformation and stats in all my lines. (All post-recode foundations.) Slow progress, but I keep myself entertained by dyeing them pretty colours.
