Yeah, share your story! I haven't ever fallen off in my years of riding. I've been bucked, but not bucked off. I was leading a horse once, though, and he reared up and knocked me over, so I guess that counts as a little 'fall' ;)

I don't keep count but the stupidest time definitely had to be when my instructor asked me to dismount after being on the lunge and I accidentally hooked my leg on the cantle, slipped under the horse, and ended up on my back looking up at her "wtf" face hahahaha

kind of the same as valkyrie, i dont really keep count and i also ride/train a lot of younger horse, mainly tb's but some others as well. we used to have on mare that refused jumps a lot just to be tricky and i was really unprepared so i flew off and slammed my ankle of the box of the jump, fracturing it :P

My dumbest fall: I had just gotten a new saddle pad and was heading to hop on my horse. He started to walk away right as I got my foot in the stirrup. Normally not a problem, just swing the leg over and stop him BUT the new pad turned out to be slick and the saddle rolled with my weight. I tried hanging on, but after a few moments I just gave up and let go. My dad watched the whole thing one his horse and was laughing.

Side note, but totally related to the subject of falls, did anyone watch the Burghley XC last night? Andrew Nicholson, Mark Todd, and Zara Tindall had some really odd falls. Andrew's mare slipped right across a jump, Toddy's old campaigner launched too high over a drop jump and buckled on landing, and Zara took a bath when her horse slipped over a brush in one of the water combinations.

I've I've fallen of a grand total of 4 times! The first time it happened there was a horse in a field which was right next to the arena I was having a lesson in. I was trotting past this horse on a pony called Tonto and suddenly, the horse spooked at something and Tonto bolted and bucked and stuff. It hurt.

It's hilarious to see the horse's reaction when you fall of. Most of the time it's, "What the heck are you doing on the ground?!" The one that bolted on me was "Booyah! She's gone! Adíos!"

Like 8 or 9 times I think...the most recent was when I was running in the horses at the guest ranch I worked at and the horse I was riding got really excited and gave a huge buck. I wasn't prepared and fell right off. Luckily, I was on a grassy area and not rocks.

I don't know, she isn't mine. That was quite a while ago. They've had a look at her and she seems to be fine but I think it would be a good idea.
