Goshen Gypsy Vanner Sale Horse of the Day!

#120007 Posted on 2017-09-02 13:43:46

I am selling all my horses.  I have a large herd of Gypsy Vanners, and they all must go!  I'm going to feature one horse per day, until they all are gone.  Happy horse shopping!

(All my horses are for sale, but not all have been put up yet, as there are so many.  If you see a horse you want that is not yet listed, send me a message, and I will put that horse up for private auction so you can bid on it.)

18 year old Buckskin Tobiano Gypsy Vanner Mare, trained in Driving
     (EEAaCrcrT+)

Currently 919 total stats
     Strength - 443
     Speed - 23
     Agility - 28
     Intelligence - 21
     Endurance - 404

14.3 hands

50.77 Average Conformation
     Head - 62.28
     Neck - 43.22
     Withers - 39.35
     Back - 39.72
     Shoulders - 58.23
     Legs - 58.57
     Knees - 57.77
     Hooves - 47.00

This mare has a solid show record, and still has a couple more years worth of showing in her.  I was not her breeder, but she was obviously aimed for Driving.  Since I bought her, she has been treated and trained to that goal and she is at Training Level 5.  This girl has earned over $69,000 in prize money, with 179 wins and a total of 524 places.  She has 4 achievement awards, and could very likely get more under your ownership.

Color breeders might be interested in her for her Cream gene.  She can produce bay, black, and seal brown foals, with or without cream and tobiano.

I would not recommend her to anyone looking towards breeding for conformation.

She has only had one foal, so overbreeding shouldn't be an issue.  Both of her parents were foundation horses.  Her sire was a pretty popular stud, probably because he was a perlino, but not to the point where you would not be able to find an unrelated mate for her.  She has no inbreeding in her pedigree.

This mare is currently available for bidding!

20 year old Grey Tobiano Gypsy Vanner Stallion, trained in Driving
     (EeAaGgDdFfT+)

Currently 950 total stats
     Strength - 439
     Speed - 19
     Agility - 28
     Intelligence - 28
     Endurance - 436

15.0 hands

55.10 Average Conformation
     Head - 56.25
     Neck - 56.40
     Withers - 51.46
     Back - 60.40
     Shoulders - 54.19
     Legs - 54.62
     Knees - 57.47
     Hooves - 50.00

This stallion is drawing towards the end of a very respectable show Driving career.  Over his lifetime, he has earned over $52,000, gaining 126 wins, 475 places, and 3 achievement awards.  He doesn't have much time left to show, but he still has time to sire some excellent foals.

Despite the fact that he is grey, this stallion has a lot to offer to those who breed for color.  He carries a dun gene, as well as the coveted flaxen gene.  He can produce any base color of foal, which gives a chance of siring a flaxen foal with a bit of luck, if paired with a mare that is Ee or ee, and Ff or ff.  Any foal he fathers will have a 50% chance of being grey.

I would not recommend him to conformation breeders.

He has not had any foals, so you don't need to worry about overbreeding.  His parents were both foundations, so there is no inbreeding in his pedigree.  His sire was a popular stud due to being flaxen, so if you are matching him to a flaxen mare, you may want to make sure they are not siblings.

19 year old Grey Tobiano Sabino Gypsy Vanner Mare, trained in Driving
     (EeAtaGGTSb)

Currently 911 total stats
     Strength - 429
     Speed - 21
     Agility - 22
     Intelligence - 19
     Endurance - 420

14.1 hands

62.63 Average Conformation
     Head - 58.00
     Neck - 69.00
     Withers - 61.00
     Back - 61.00
     Shoulders - 60.00
     Legs - 64.00
     Knees - 65.00
     Hooves - 69.00

This mare has had a pretty awesome showing career.  She's earned over $78,000, won 287 times, placed 650 times, and has earned 5 achievement awards.  She's coming up on retirement age, but that just means she would make a perfect broodmare.  With the proper sire, her foal is destined to be a Driving powerhouse.

On the surface, she may not seem like a good choice for a color breeder, but she does have a seal brown gene hidden under that grey.  All her offspring will be grey, so you wouldn't see it until the second generation, but it is there if you are willing to work to bring it out.

Her conformation is solidly respectable.  No amazing highs, but no lows, either.  A good choice for someone who is just starting conformation breeding.

She has had two foals so far, so she is in no immediate danger of overbreeding.  She is a foundation horse, so it would be a good way to bring fresh blood into a breeding program without sacrificing stats.

20 year old Grey Roan Gypsy Vanner Stallion, trained in Driving
     (EeAAGgRnrn)

Currently 1343 total stats
     Strength - 640
     Speed - 21
     Agility - 20
     Intelligence - 22
     Endurance - 640

15.3 hands

53.15 Average Conformation
     Head - 62.20
     Neck - 58.30
     Withers - 47.90
     Back - 45.46
     Shoulders - 51.36
     Legs - 43.86
     Knees - 70.14
     Hooves - 45.00

Another solid show stallion, earning over $73,000, with 136 wins, 525 places, and 4 achievement awards.  He may be near the end of his show career, but he's just coming into his prime as a high stat stud.  He would be a real boost to any show driving program.

He has a 50/50 chance of passing on the grey, and has the ability to sire foals that have a bay or chestnut base coat.

I would not recommend him to a conformation breeder.

He has not yet been bred, and both his parents were foundation horses.
