Goshen Chincoteague Sale Horse of the Day

#119999 Posted on 2017-09-02 12:40:35

I am selling all my horses.  I have a large herd of Chincoteagues, and they all must go!  I'm going to feature one horse per day, until they all are gone.  Happy horse shopping!

(All my horses are for sale, but not all have been put up yet, as there are so many.  If you see a horse you want that is not yet listed, send me a message, and I will put that horse up for private auction so you can bid on it.)

SOLD

18 year old Grullo Splash Chincoteague mare, trained in Show Jumping
     (EeaaDdSpsp)

Currently 948 current stats
     Strength - 13
     Speed - 437
     Agility - 443
     Intelligence - 30
     Endurance - 25

12.3 hands

75.91 average conformation
     Head - 93.85
     Neck - 89.87
     Withers - 78.72
     Back - 83.13
     Shoulders - 71.94
     Legs - 78.47
     Knees - 75.29
     Hooves - 36.00

She's a solid little show mare, coming up on the end of a very respectable career.  She's earned over $40,000 over her lifetime, placing 302 times and earning 2 achievement awards.  She's been bred, treated, and trained for Show Jumping, and is at Training Level 5.

She carries the genes for dun and splash, making her a good choice for those who want to breed for color or pattern.  She is capable of producing a foal of any base color, depending on who she is matched with.

Her conformation would be an asset for any breeder.  Her head, neck, and back are all rated "Excellent," and her only weakness is her hooves.

She has not yet been bred.  She is coming up on the best years for breeding, to get a foal with the best possible stat levels.  Her sire is a 3rd generation horse, and her dam is a foundation.  You should have a pretty good chance of finding an unrelated stallion for her to mate with, and she has no inbreeding in her pedigree.

20 year old Buckskin Chincoteague Stallion, trained in Show Jumping
     (EeAaCrcr)

Currently 1262 current stats
     Strength - 6
     Speed - 603
     Agility - 603
     Intelligence - 30
     Endurance - 20

14.2 hands

54.86 average conformation
     Head - 53.49
     Neck - 62.96
     Withers - 39.36
     Back - 57.98
     Shoulders - 73.43
     Legs - 58.89
     Knees - 58.78
     Hooves - 34.00

This little stallion is near the end of a very solid Show Jumping career.  Over $89,000 earned in shows, with 180 wins and 590 places, and 4 achievement awards.  There's not much time left for him to earn more, but he would make a great stud for anyone who is looking to breed high stat Show Jumping Chincoteagues.  There's no reason why his offspring should not exceed him.

Color breeders may be interested in his cream gene.  He is also capable of fathering a foal of any base color, depending on the mare he is paired with.

I would not recommend him for breeders aiming for high conformation.

He has not sired any foals yet, so there is no danger of overbreeding.  He comes from some fairly popular lines, so if that is a problem for you, he may not be your best choice.

SOLD

16 year old Perlino Dun Chincoteague mare, trained in Show Jumping
     (EeAACrCrDd)

Currently 1010 current stats
     Strength - 16
     Speed - 462
     Agility - 485
     Intelligence - 37
     Endurance - 20

13.2 hands

66.09 average conformation
     Head - 72.50
     Neck - 65.38
     Withers - 94.14
     Back - 55.11
     Shoulders - 62.97
     Legs - 70.31
     Knees - 66.35
     Hooves - 42.00

This mare has 3 more years of her showing career.  She's had a respectable run, but probably would have done better in a smaller herd with more focused attention.  She still earned over $57,000, though, and got two achievement awards.  She's just the right age to become a good broodmare for high stat Show Jumping ponies.  She definitely has the stats for it, as she was bred, treated, and trained for that task.

Color is where she really shines.  As a perlino, she will pass a cream gene down to all of her offspring.  She also has a dun gene, and can produce foals with bay or chestnut base colors, so buckskins, dunskins, palominos, and dunalinos are all great possibilities.

Her conformation is quite decent.  Her weakest point is her hooves, but she has excellent withers.

She has not had any foals yet.  Her sire is third generation, and her dam is mostly between second and third, and there is no inbreeding in any of that, but one branch of her dam's pedigree is very extensive and would need careful examination to ensure no inbreeding was present.

SOLD

19 year old Sooty Bay Chincoteague Stallion, trained in Show Jumping
     (EeAaSTYsty)

Currently 763 stats
     Strength - 25
     Speed - 347
     Agility - 347
     Intelligence - 16
     Endurance - 28

13.2 hands

54.50 average conformation
     Head - 69.00
     Neck - 55.00
     Withers - 61.00
     Back - 50.00
     Shoulders - 46.00
     Legs - 57.00
     Knees - 47.00
     Hooves - 51.00

This little stallion has done very well for himself.  He has earned over $60,000 in shows, with 295 wins, 582 places, and 5 achievement awards.  He does not have much longer in his showing career, but he would make a great stud for someone who wants to breed high stat Show Jumping powerhouses.

He carries the desirable Sooty gene, and can sire a foal of any base color.

I would not recommend him for conformation breeders.

He is a foundation stallion, who has not been bred yet.  A perfect way to bring new blood into your breeding program, without having to put the work in to raise a foundation horse yourself!

Currently available for bidding!
