Goshen Andalusian Sale Horse of the Day!

#119991 Posted on 2017-09-02 11:56:36

I am selling all my horses.  I have a large herd of Andalusians, and they all must go!  I'm going to feature one horse per day, until they all are gone.  Happy horse shopping!

(All my horses are for sale, but not all have been put up yet, as there are so many.  If you see a horse you want that is not yet listed, send me a message, and I will put that horse up for private auction so you can bid on it.)

SOLD

11 year old Buckskin Andalusian Mare, trained in Dressage
     (EEAACrcr)

Currently 803 total stats
     Strength - 22
     Speed - 23
     Agility - 364
     Intelligence - 372
     Endurance - 22

15.3 hands

63.68 Average Conformation
     Head - 55.80
     Neck - 91.84
     Withers - 44.70
     Back - 61.12
     Shoulders - 69.91
     Legs - 61.23
     Knees - 51.80
     Hooves - 71.00

This lovely mare has plenty of potential as a show horse.  I did not breed her, but she was obviously intended for dressage, and proper action had been taken to ensure she met her best potential as a show horse.  I continued her development by giving her proper treats and training.  She is currently at Training Level 3.  She has earned over $26,000 in her show career, and has placed 113 times, earning her an achievement award.  She has plenty of years left to continue to be a strong earner.

Color breeders may find her desirable for her coveted Cream gene.  She has the potential to produce bays, buckskins, and perlinos, depending on who she is paired with.

If you are starting out to try to breed for conformation, she may be a good pick.  While her overall conformation is on the good side of average, she does have an excellent neck, and may be suitable to balance out a stallion who has a lack in that category.

She only has had 3 foals, so there is no danger of overbreeding.  Her sire was a third to fourth generation horse, and her dam was a foundation.  Her sire was a very popular stallion, however, so you may want to watch who you match her to.  She has no inbreeding in her pedigree, however.

16 year old Bay Andalusian Stallion, trained in Dressage
     (EeAA)

Currently 842 total stats
     Strength - 9
     Speed - 14
     Agility - 393
     Intelligence - 419
     Endurance - 7

15.1 hands

76.92 Average Conformation
     Head - 64.35
     Neck - 65.90
     Withers - 86.78
     Back - 93.41
     Shoulders - 60.15
     Legs - 75.83
     Knees - 75.91
     Hooves - 93.00

What an amazing stallion!  He's a real Dressage powerhouse, obviously the result of several generations of careful breeding.  Since I've bought him, he's received a full regimen of treats and training.  He has 234 first places under his belt, with a total of 451 places, and he has earned 4 achievement awards.  He is more than prepared to continue to advance under new ownership, not to mention he is a real asset to any Dressage breeding operation, with those impressively low non-specialty stats.

He is capable of siring either chestnut or bay foals.  While he has no special color genetics, he would produce a lovely palomino or buckskin foal when paired with a double cream mare, or a 50/50 chance of either if paired with a mare with a single cream gene.

His conformation is particularly impressive, and would be a huge boost to anyone who has that as their goals in breeding.  His withers, back, and hooves are all rated "Excellent."

This stallion's pedigree is very long.  He is the product of generations and generations of breeding.  There is no inbreeding in the first four generations.  He has not sired any foals yet, so overbreeding should not be a problem.  His parents were bred fairly extensively, so you may want to use caution with matching him to the right mare.

Currently accepting bids for this impressive stallion!

7 year old Buckskin Rabicano Andalusian Mare, trained in Dressage
     (EeAaCrcrRbrb)

Currently 846 total stats
     Strength - 11
     Speed - 12
     Agility - 407
     Intelligence - 407
     Endurance - 9

15.1 hands

69.76 Average Conformation
     Head - 73.14
     Neck - 75.40
     Withers - 54.79
     Back - 66.50
     Shoulders - 77.30
     Legs - 74.12
     Knees - 57.84
     Hooves - 79.00

This lovely young mare is true show quality.  It is obvious that her breeder chose very carefully to create a horse exceptionally well-suited for Dressage.  Though only 7 years old, she has already earned more than $53,000, with 103 wins and 213 places, and 2 achievement awards.  She's got a good dozen more years of showing, so with the proper care and guidance, the sky is the limit for this mare.  She'd make a great high-stat broodmare, too.  Paired with a strong Dressage stallion, her offspring should be unbeatable.

She isn't just show quality, but she is truly lovely as well.  She not only carries a cream gene, but she carries the very rare rabicano - the only pattern available for Andalusians.  She's a real catch for any color breeder.  She is also capable of producing a foal of any base color, depending on what she is matched with.

Her conformation is solidly respectable.  While not reaching impressive heights, she doesn't fall to any lows, either.  She might be a good pick to add a little color or a stat boost to a conformation breeder's herd, while not dragging down conformation scores to any significant degree.

This mare has not yet had any foals.  She has a very extensive pedigree, with some inbreeding, so she would not be a good fit for a breeder who avoids that issue.  Her sire was a pretty prolific stud, so a breeder would need to choose a mate for her carefully.

13 year old Bay Andalusian Stallion, trained in Dressage
     (EEAa)

Currently 830 total stats
     Strength - 14
     Speed - 15
     Agility - 416
     Intelligence - 371
     Endurance - 14

15.1 hands

57.89 Average Conformation
     Head - 63.40
     Neck - 68.55
     Withers - 64.20
     Back - 40.15
     Shoulders - 59.99
     Legs - 58.98
     Knees - 60.81
     Hooves - 47.00

This is a good stallion with plenty of show years left in him.  He hasn't had the attention he deserved in such a large herd, so his wins and money earned isn't as high as it could be, but with a more focused owner, he certainly has the potential to go very far.  He would also make an excellent stud for those who are breeding for stats concentrated in the traits favorable for Dressage.

He has no rare color genetics, unfortunately, so he's not that much of a draw for a color breeder.  Foals that he sires will either have a bay or black base coat.

I would not recommend him to someone who wants to breed for conformation.

He has not been bred yet.  His dam is a foundation horse, but his sire has a very long pedigree.
