When to keep when to sell?

#119715 Posted on 2017-08-31 22:33:10

Hi there. I'm not surenif this is the place to post questions  to have one about breeding and when to keep and when to sell. So, I'm having a hard time selling horses. I always have this issue when I play sims. So any advice one what standards you take into account to which ones stay and which ones go? Any advice would be super helpful. I need to start selling some stock.

I think it would depend what you're breeding for.

For example, if you want pretty colors but conformation doesn't matter to you that much, then you should keep the horses with colors you like/want to breed for, and sell those with unimpressive colors, who might have good stats or a higher confo.

Or if you want to breed for the highest stats, you could sell pretty horses with low stats, and keep some plain looking ponies with the best stats.

This can go many different ways, you just have to estimate the value of the horse for your project, and if you REALLY need to keep them or if they won't help you much.

Thank you :)
Although I love different colors because they are pretty I have found myself with a lot of Champagne horses. Lol. I want to focus on horse with great confirmation and high stats. I want is all! Hahaha!

Prioritizing your goals is key. It looks like you have a lot of breeds so your priorities may vary per breed but you will want to decide what your goals are then cull the ones that don't meet those goals.    :)

I'm with you on wanting it all! I want all of my horses to have good confo, stats and be pretty haha
I've forced myself to focus on 2 of the 3 for the two breeds I do. So QHs are all about color and stats and my Andies I just care about stats and confo. Of course I can still like the 3rd one, but it isn't priority.
So like Ma'iingan said, find what your focus is for each breed and try selling the ones that don't make those focuses, but could still be good for other people.
If you have a lot of champagnes, maybe sell one or two as you already have a lot of that color in your stock going around.

Thank you. This has been so helpful. I guess it's time to see who stays and goes. A lot of them are from Mares and stallions that have passed on and being the person I am I want to keep all my lines. Lol.
