Economy?

Hello! This is my first official time posting on here. I recently had a encounter with another member on here that wasn't too pleasant. He/she bought one of my horses from me then proceeded to geld the horse and put it into the rescue center for "population control" In the public notes it says and I quote "Over breeding and under priced horses RUIN the economy!" So my question here is, is there really an economy on this place? I think what they did was disrespectful because the poor stallion had good stats and had beautiful coloring but got gelded and thrown into the trash. Can one or a few of you please help me answer the real question of "Is there really an economy and do we need to control it?"
