So... I haven't been around much lately. Been super busy with work and Id taken apart my computer to make room for a new animal in my house... I originally got guinea pigs, but a friend of mine had gotten a single pig and he was super lonely. I offered to sell her my two pigs to keep him company. She bought them and I in turn got what I REALLY wanted (well, sort of. I really wanted rats but the husband said no).

So I purchased the most adorable and sweet Holland Lop bunny. His name is Nitro and he's fitting into the family much more than my guinea pigs were.

As of late, I've had a lot of medical issues related to my joints. Literally every joint in my body at some time has caused pain. The final straw was when both my hands were so bad I could barely do anything. I was tested for Lymes, Lupus, and Rheumatoid Arthritis ... everything came back negative. I'm now to see a Rheumatologist, but cant get in until the end of November.

Due to these issues, I asked my doctor if it's wise to be handling a freshly weaned horse, and she said no. Now before people say "well, that's what all non-horse people will say", my doctor is actually fairly knowledgeable about horses. With young horses, especially just weaned babies, they're going to try to pull stunts which in turn can result in my injuring myself due to these issues going on.

So I unfortunately had to back out on my gorgeous filly. :/ It's not what I wanted to do at all, but my health 100% comes first. I was cleared to ride, so long as it's not a freshly broke horse/super green. We understand that all horses pose a risk, but a horse that's been undersaddle for a few years is less likely to do something compared to a baby/fresh horse.

That's basically my life in a nutshell right now.... living every day trying to live with pain that they can't seem to diagnose :/

How's everyone else been?

Thanks Feathered. It's a bit rough on me, but I'd rather protect my current health. My grandma told me I shouldn't even think about getting another horse until I hear what my Rheumatologist has to say ... but riding is the only thing that hasn't caused me pain (minus the first few weeks of soreness from not riding, lol).

But it's going to be a few months of saving before I can even get one :/

I know the feelings. I also have horrible pains in my joints since my middle school years (I'm 23 years old now). My family had history of autoimmune (lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, etc) so I've been tested for autoimmune several time since Middle School years (I was tested again recently). They always came out negative. Right now, I have horrible pains in my knees and wrists. I am not sure if it is joints or nerves since it felt like my nerves went crazy on me and sent stabbing pains all over my body on or near joints. Hopefully, you will have good luck with Rheumatologist. I am trying to figure out my next step.
