I don't know if this has been brought up by anyone else. I tried searching this board first before committing to a post. Anyway, here it is::

I would love to have the ability to layer an applicator on top of existing coat patterns. For example, I currently have a horse that I like, but I'd love even more if I could simply add Spsp to him. Unfortunately, when using a marking applicator, it removes all previous coat designs and just adds the new desired "marking".

Also, as I side note, I'd like to see "Marking Applicator" changed to "Pattern Applicator", and then have a real "Marking Applicator" that allows you to change face and leg markings; blaze to white face, or stockings to socks.

Now, obviously, there comes a point where it's better to just create a Custom. But for those of us who only want minor changes, it'd be really lovely to have these features.

ETA:: In addition, I think players who breed for stats, confirmation, and color might be more inclined to spend more EVC on a well statted, good conformation horse. That way, they can get the exact look they want for their horse, without having to go to custom and potentially coming up with "snake eyes" on stats and confo.

I really hope this made some sort of sense to you guys. Feel free to bubble burst.

Makes total sense. I would want this as a feature in the game as well. :)

Support!

I think this is effectively just a DNA tweak for a particular gene? I know we only have the for some genes and not others at the moment.

Oh wow I didn't even know that was a problem! I was going to buy the marking applicator to add pinto patterns to my Appaloosas. I don't want to lose their spots though! Support!

It makes sense to me to have KIT markings added to when you use an applicator, rather than replaced, as they are not mutually exclusive - you can have more than one present at the same time. This could be separated into two items, perhaps one to replace the marking, and one that would add an additional marking. Or perhaps the applicator would allow you to check a box to decide whether to replace current markings or add on to them when using it.

My one major issue, that ultimately brought this subject up, is this guy::

^^^^I would like to turn him from this^^^^
v v v v to this v v v v

And all that would take is being able to add Spsp to his coat pattern without knocking anything off. Just a minor adjustment.

i love the idea of a "white marking" applicator and a "pattern applicator".
Another possible addition (for a higher credit cost) might be an item that allows tweaking of each marking gene.

For example: a horse is homozygous sabino overo, but by using a "marking adjustment" item i could make the sabino heterozygous, keep the overo, and add heterozygous roan and homozygous splash.
