Best Time to Breed?

When is the best age to breed horses? Should I be breeding horses with the same specialty together to get better quality horses?

Most like to wait until they are 18(ages tomorrow), 19(ages tomorrow) and 20(ages tomorrow). That's how I do it.

But to get the max gain some like to wait until 20(ages tomorrow) to breed. And yes most do breed the same speciality horses together to get better quality horses. 

I always do the same specialties to keep those stats the highest.  I also wait until my horse is at least 15 years old, depending on how many times I plan on breeding.  I prefer to breed my horses no more than 5 times and some are bred fewer.  The older they are, the more stats you'll generally get as you have more time to train/treat/and show your horses.

I usually would wait until age 17-18 and allow at least 3 foals out of my pairs
