I'd love to see some fancy tack variants, including traditional or cultural tack. Just thought I'd use this as a master-post of suggestions for lots of different fancy tack ideas. Some items would be just for a specific discipline, while others (e.g. cultural items) could be for multiple disciplines, with the same or similar art.

Such items would give the same stats as normal tack items so they wouldn't offer any advantage over other tack, or be in any way essential to game play, so would mostly just be decorative. They would be difficult to obtain, which could be achieved by one or more of the following:
- only available in events
- or limited stock in the store
- or very expensive
- or rarely found on rides
- or credit item
- or only crafted by players (if item crafting ever becomes a feature)
- or something else?

Possible items: (please comment with more suggestions)

Traditional Arabian tack. Could also be called Desert Horse Tack, so it's not breed-specific. The different riding disciplines could use the same art, just give the stats in different areas. Or there could just be small differences in the art between disciplines, e.g. the dressage version could have a double rein. The driving version would have just the saddle blankets without the saddle, plus maybe some extra straps in the same places as our current driving tack, but with tassels and such to match the rest of the tack.

Armour. Could probably have the same art for all disciplines, or have the item give the same stats in all stat areas. Something like this:

Ornamental driving tack. Something like this:

Or maybe like this:

Ornamental dressage tack. Something like this:

Ornamental western tack. Something like this:

Also, I'm not sure what this is, but we need it. XD

Tribal tack. The best known example of tribal tack is the native American horse regalia, shown below, which includes war paint and feathers in the mane/tail. A more general tribal style, which doesn't copy any specific culture, would use furs and animals skins for the saddle/blanket, and simple woven leather or rope bridles. Decorative elements may include feathers, tassels, or beads, or cloth materials in the vibrant geometric patterns you sometimes see in Africa, South America, central Asia, Middle East, etc.

Carousel tack. Something like this, although without the pole:

I like it. I think if we would be able to purchase of ornamental tack for player points, that would give PP some meaning since they just accumulates after 30 level.

The one you don't know is Baroque tack which is fancy Medieval tack, which I need! They are more known to look beautiful on Friesians.
I support!

i like rook's idea of purchasing them with player points.
perhaps they could even be decorative items that would "cover up" the discipline appropriate tack a horse was wearing and work solely as a "looks" item.

I've wavered on buying backgrounds, but i'd totally splurge on decorative tack :)

Fancy discipline tack that are used in competitions in real life (like ornamental driving tack) - yay.
Fancy tack with no purpose other than to look fancy, - nay.

If I was going to do this, instead of it replacing current tack, I would make them purely decorative with the option of hiding the "required" tack items.

Maybe the decorations Could add like a stat boost for a limited amount of time or as long as the decorations are on the tack!

I don't think it should have a stat boost, decorations are basically like backgrounds. They're supposed to be accessories for the horse. I don't want to have to buy a decorations for all of my horses because it keeps them up with everyone else's horses... which will have decorations (if given stat boosts).
It'll start becoming more like tack than just for something pretty. Like, tack isn't a requirement, but its important to have some on your horse to get places in shows.

@Abbey
I like the idea of things like this being implemented as decorations instead, with them giving no stat gains, and the normal tack just being hidden instead.

I like the idea of the tack being used for specific breeds, like the Arabian tack.

the ornamental driving tack is actually used in competition for Clydesdales/heavy horses.

You could also use traditional Spanish tack for Andalusians.

TWH's could have the traditional TWH tack

Welsh ponies could have show pony tack

This looks awesome and maybe we could make our current tack look more realistic and different. Like having the racing bridle actually look the way it's item tag looks?
