Breeding pairs questions

#111459 Posted on 2017-06-27 08:09:03

One of my lippizan lines has finally aged up and I'm now ready to breed them. I do have a couple of questions though(this is the first time I have tried to actually organize my breeding x]).

1. I lost track of my mares for this line and they have aged up to 19yrs and 5 days. If I breed them at this age, I should be able to get another goal out of them by 20yrs(aged tomorrow) right?

I aim for 3 breedings but serves me right when trying to play super tired lol.

2. I am trying to breed by conformation, so if anyone would like to take a look at them to see if I need to switch pairs around would be nice. They are under the Norse divisions and are paired up by the alphabet system.

***I haven't had the chance to switch them over to dressage yet, I'm still in sticker shock over having to spend 160k***

*Edit* I decided to chance it, hopefully it turns out well :]

"the best time to breed in order to get the highest stat foal is the day before both parents turn 21.
if you wait to breed until then, you won't risk losing any potential stat boosts (since pregnant mares can't be trained) or gained stats in shows (mare can't show toward the end of their pregnancy).

however, sometimes players sacrifice those few stats in order to breed the horses multiple times. This is done usually if the player plans on selling a spare foal, if they're hoping for a particular color in the foal, and if they're breeding for conformation.

If you plan on breeding twice (or more 3, 4, etc) and have already paired your horses, then it's ideal to lock the mare when she reaches the first breeding age (if you're breeding two foals, lock her at 19, ages tomorrow. if you're breeding three foals lock her at 18, ages tomorrow). You then continue to age the stallion and earn as many stats as possible, breeding him to the mare when he is 20, ages tomorrow. Then you'll lock him up till the mare is ready to breed again, and so on.

Pregnant mares can still do riding school, so there's not really a point in "retiring" them, since they'll still be able to earn money and 'useable' stats for thier future foals as long as they're under 21.

Hope that helps!"

Thank you Lurk :)
I'm trying to breed twice mainly because I have spent waaay to much time on them. I would have bred them the way kahzie describes if i hadn't messed up and forgotten to lock the mares.
*edit*
Basically I'm just making sure that I have enough time with the 2 day cool down to breed twice. I believe I do.
