*Subdivisions Within Divisions

okay, so many may not support this and I don't know how it'll work/if it would work.

it could maybe be a deluxe feature? 

I currently have 16/17 divisions and whilst the divisions feature is handy I don't like that I have so many divisions for my horses. I would love to split mares/stallions but I'd literally need to double the divisions I already have.

Which is why I'm suggesting subdivisions, so it would be an easier way to split horses by gender/age/discipline within a division. I'd say you could only create 2 subdivisions per division, so for my 'Trakehner' division, I'd only be able to create 2 subdivisions. 

Subdivisions could be something only the owner of the division could see like the private notes of a division or base stats and private notes on a horse. Subdivisions could maybe also appear in the training/showing/riding school drop down menus, making it easier if you have certain horses in a division you want to show and others you want to send to a riding school.

You can alter the subdivision of a horse by their page the way you change divisions now.

I think it'd also only be fair if you couldn't lock an individual subdivision, but had to lock the whole division. 

You would have to manually move horses to a subdivision and if your setting for the whole division is 'sort by stats' or 'sort by age' it would mean the whole division is sorted that way and you can't sort an individual subdivision in a different way to the whole division.

They wouldn't really have much of a role outside of making organisation a bit easier.

I know the answer for my problem is really have less horses and buy more divisions so I can keep mares/stallions separate and separate by discipline again (as not all my horses in one division are the same discipline)

It might also make it easier for raising foals if you raise a breed in one division and don't have a foal/youngstock division to be able to separate horses by age. 

I've also probably made this sound more confusing than it should, lol

Custom subdivisions would be too hard on the server really, it's already a mess of queries on the page.  I could split the divisions into Stallions, Mares and Foals as default but that would be the most I could realistically do without overhauling the entire system.

Abbey -  I did wonder how possible it would be, so no worries!

I like the idea of divisions being split into mares/stallions/foals though, even if it was just to do it as another sorting option :D
