ApHC Club Raise A Foundation Contest-Update!

The Appaloosa Horse Club Raise A Foundation Contest will start on June 15th! We invite anyone who may be interested in participating to get involved. If you would like to participate, you must first join the Appaloosa Horse Club, as this contest is only open to ApHC members.

This will be the contest thread to follow the horses participating and update information as needed...please see all contest info below:

The contest will START- JUNE 15TH.

1. Anyone interested in participating in the contest will create up to 2 foundation horses to start with. ( or if you like,  can create them for you with your desired gender/discipline)

- horses created before June 15th can be locked until the contest starts. ALL HORSES MUST START THE CONTEST WITH 100 STATS.

PEPPERMINTS OR HIGHER SPECIALTY TREATS LIKE EASTER BOUQUETS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE USED. SUGAR CUBES AND HAY CUBES ARE FINE. Many players do not have access to the higher specialty treats and we want the contest to be fair for everyone.
I will on occassion be checking in on the horses and if I find that a horse is being fed higher specialty treats, like peppermints etc..they will be DISQUALIFIED.

2. Foundation should be 3 yrs


3. Register your contest horses with the ApHC

4. Please send me links to your entries. I will collect all the entries and post them in the ApHC Club forum so all members can follow the horses.

5. On the first of each month, Ill check the status of each horse and a small prize will be given to the top horses in the following 3 categories:

1. Most Stats Gained
2. Most Points Earned
3. Most Money Earned

5. At 10 yrs we'll check the status of all entries and a prize of 50K evd will be rewarded to the top horse in each of the above categories. ( yes, one horse can win in more than one category if they qualify)

6. At 20 years of age, we'll review the overall stats of each foundy.... 3 prizes of  100K each will be given out for:

1.  Highest Stats
2.  Most Points Earned
3.  Most Money Earned

Of those 3 finalists...a grand champion will be crowned based on the overall combination of stats, points, money earned. That horse will have earned the title of " All ROUND CHAMPION FOUNDATION APPALOOSA" and they will receive 250K EVD


** all members can follow the contest horses on the ApHC forum, I will also post winners in  upcoming newsletters

** my hopes are that anyone doing president duties would keep the contest going until the end..I'd like to see how far the horses get*

Are 3yr old Foundies (with 7 days to age) from the RC allowed?

I feel bad making extra horses when other people make them and then throw them away. 

also I think i should point something else out about the contest. 

I'm at the start of the Date - time line. June 15th starts for me a day/12hrs before the EV game resets to the next day cycle. Other people like me would end up getting a jump start on the contest. 

Should someone volunteer to hold all the foundation horses and keep them locked in their account to distribute them all at the same time to the people they are going to for the contest? 
Just so no one gets a head start and keep the playing field even 

Sure you can adopt foundations from the RC, that would be great! As long as they're 3 and at 100 stats.

About the start time...Thats a great idea...I can hold all the entries and distribute them at one time...for those in a different time zone...please let me know in terms of EV game time...what time would work best for you for starting..and I'll distribute the horses as close to that time as possible...

Im thinking something along the lines of 8am on the 15th...but open to hear what others would prefer

Im in Canada..Im 3 hours AHEAD  the current EV time...but i can make sure everyone gets off to the same time start..feel free to transfer horses to me to lock up til the 15th..

One little problem for me. I put a strict 58 or higher conformation on any of my foundations. :/ That's not super common to get from the store and even harder to find in the RC!

I hear ya...Ive created up to 100 horses and only managed to get a handful with confo of 60 or higher. The only other thing to do is create a custom..but thats alot of money to put into a contest...its allowed tho :)

H@BAF I put 4 horses in the RC, if I remember correctly 2 or 3 had at least 58 confo. One was 60

57+ Confo are snapped up pretty quickly in the RC. 

I'm willing to donate two 57+ confo horses for any one who doesn't want to spend the extra money to get them from the EC, one of them is mine, the other is actually one of Lucra's from the RC. Both are mares, both Few spot.

I will be sending them to Windspun to lock and then send out when the time is right.

Horse 2: Black RbRb Snowcap Mare 54.75

(I know my 2nd horse is low confirmation, but her like her gene code and I think she is pretty ^_^)

I spent about 200k in store horses lol
But I managed to get 5 58+ statted appys that I'll donate :)

hahahah..you guys are too funny...Got your horses , registered them all...and locked them.

Id be happy to store any extra horses for players who dont have horses to enter. I can always send the horses back to you guys, if they dont get used.

Im thrilled to see so much excitement and eagerness to get this contest going...Im hoping any future appy president sticks to it and sees it through to the end..
