Coat Application Q

okay, so I have a coat applicator and some pangare horses.

I have 2 bays, want to change one to either palomino, chestnut (will get a flaxen tweak for it too), or a dilute/dun dilute.

if I use the coat applicator, will I lose the pangare gene as that was bought with an applicator, or is it just the base colour that changes?

^{Pangare is listed in the coat colour section, so unless you select Sorrel (Chestnut + Pangare) you probably lose the pangare gene using the coat applicator or randomiser.}

i take it that makes selecting mealy palomino/mealy seal bay would then be much harder too

^{I'm not sure what the colour options are for an applicator since I've never used one heh. If you select a horse and look at the list, it doesn't apply the colour unless you click use. As long as you choose a colour with Mealy in it, it'll be pangare + your colour, pangare displays on chestnut and bay bases but not black. If there's no Mealy options then you'll have to apply the pangare tweak again if you want to keep it on the horse.} 

there aren't any pangare options with the color applicator, so you'd lose the mealy if you used the applicator.
