Need feedback on layout

I've just coded up a layout for my new club and I'd appreciate some feedback on it - what works, what doesn't, ideas for other things to do, etc. I don't have a great eye for colour so I'd especially appreciate any feedback concerning colour schemes, and how certain colours are working with certain elements.

Also... wee bit proud of the fact that I've done all this with code, not images, apart from the background texture. :D I'm just hoping all browsers display it roughly the same. *shakes fist at IE*

My main concerns at the moment:
- I don't like the pale yellow text, but I'm not sure what to do with it at this stage.
- The scrollbar isn't playing nice with the rounded corners, so I may have to find an alternative there.
- Firefox and Chrome are displaying things roughly the same, but IE is struggling with a few things, because of course it is.

Ooooh this is so nice! I love the way that it integrates with the page and the image used looks really nice and professional. I'm starting to learn a bit about coding myself and can't wait to improve. Great job so far!
