Story of Hermes Thunder II

The first of our kept foals, and oldest of three born to Hermes Thunder and champion mare Ima Diva, was born late one evening in spring. While everyone was eager to meet the colt, since he would be the first colt in Ima Diva's line to remain at Hermes Stud, everyone was hoping he would be like his mother.

We were all dissapointed however, as it soon became apparent that he had completely missed out on the cream gene both his parents had, as he was born bay. He did however inherit the Frame Splash gene, so it was something, at least. He's a quiet young horse, and takes some work to teach the different skills that he is going to need.

Finally, on the final day before his first race, he seems to have learned how to run! We have high hopes for him, but if he fails to live up to his mother's reputation here at the stables, well, there is always the next generation we breed from him! 

So far he has not been as good a racer as his younger sister, Devine Diva, but we have decided to keep him as a stallion, in the hopes that his foals will prove to be better racers than even he has been!
