Sweetsie
Owned By: Nicholas Taylor m 21 (Stable Owner)
Sweetsie is an extremely shy mare that runs away from humans in order to avoid contact. She is barely halter broke and has yet to be lead more than a few feet. She is more of a flighty mare than a fighter. She shows the fear of tight spaces and tends to be around the mares in the herd than being in the corner of the pasture.
Sweetsie is a dressage project mare
For the future she most likely will require an advanced-elite rider
~~~~~
Sweetsie was a rescue from a place that not even the rescuers knew of. From what they knew, she was found wandering around an old man's farmland with barbed wire snared upon her legs. In order for them to get close they had to tranquilize her and evacuate her to their safe haven. She was operated on and showed signs of mainly anxiety post op. She screams in tight places and with that she was turned out 24/7. After purchasing her, we had to sedate her.. which was no easy task and finally guide her into our trailer. Even when she was doped up, she knew how to put up a fight. The trailer ride wasn't much of a blissful one, she ended up thrashing around and threw herself into a mini-anxiety attack which resulted with her slashing her whole right leg open. We had no choice but to haul-butt to our stables and steadily take her out into a separate pasture where our in-house vet operated on her once again. After the anesthesia wore off, she was doped up and taken to the dressage mare's pasture where she met Felicity and Lacy. With Lacy being the lead of the "two mare crew" she rejected sweetsie and often ran her into a corner. That was until Felicty drew away and comforted Sweetsie. It was indeed a hard time for all of us, but she was finally accepted into the herd and is now apart of the "three mare crew". While Felicity and Lacy run to the gates when their owners arrive, Sweetsie tends to stay put or even spook and dart to a corner where we cannot reach her. We are taking things step by step in order to gain her trust
