"Retirement & Rescue"

this is my secondary account. primary is #126262

this is a retirement stable for my horses, as well as a foster stable where i take older horses from the RC and recondition them for showing in the discipline most optimal for their stats. the goal is primarily to fill up shows, but also to give horses that still have potential left in them a chance to make a name for themselves and maybe even find new forever homes.

|SALE/BREEDING|*
All the horses in the showing divisions are for sale upon request, and many of them are up for stud/brood. So if you wish to purchase any just shoot me a message! Foundies with no foals are $3k, foundies with foals are 3.5k. Lined horses with no foals are $4k, and lined horses with foals are $4.5k. These are flat rates that won't go up no matter the horses' stats. (HOWEVER if you are the previous owner of the horse and wish to buy it back, your flat rate is $2k. In addition, if you are a previous owner who sent your horse to the RC because you specifically wanted it deleted and wasn't expecting anyone to adopt it, message me! although ultimately once you sell a horse/send it to the RC it no longer belongs to you and others who buy/adopt it 100% can do whatever they want with it, personally I am willing to hear your reasons and consider working something out with you.)

Horses with foals/lines cost slightly more because I hope to help people preserve their lines somewhat, so with prices just a little higher than the EC I hope to deter people from purchasing just to end up dumping them back in the RC again or purchasing them and then letting them sit neglected until they pass away. I hope if someone buys one of my rescues that they buy them because they genuinely want them (either for showing or to include in their lines, or something). Which is also why horses with lines and/or 2+ foals are only up for stud/brood a very limited amount of times (it's more or less limited depending on how many foals they already have. i will not go over 4 foals max for mares and 5 max for stallions--this includes the foals they already have). I won't overbreed any horses that are part of someone's lines, even though they don't own the horse anymore. :)

Stud/brood costs are as follows:
no lines/foals = 2500
lines but no foals = 3000
no lines but w/foal(s) = 3500
lines and foals = 4000
[some stud/brood prices may not adhere exactly to this list due to combinations of other factors, i.e. nice coloring, but terrible confo, great confo but high nss, or plain/undesirable coloring but good confo and low nss, broken lines, etc. but none will go above 4k or below 2.5k]

|RETIREMENT GUIDELINES ETC|
As long as a horse still has any living/active foals, they will get locked for preservation once they reach my determined retirement age (18). Every few months I do go through the locked retirees to check foal status and if there are still any alive/active, and if any no longer qualify, they are moved to the unlocked retirement pasture. Stallions with no foals and inbreeding on the first page of pedigree or with both NSS above 65 and health/confo under 4 goods/54.00, will be gelded. (In the case of first page inbreds/FPIBs, they will go to the unlocked retirement pasture at 18 and be allowed to pass away when the time comes. Inbreds that are non-FPIB's still get locked as per my living lineage rule.)

The unlocked retirement pasture is for rescues as well as those from my show stock that are 18+ years old and have no foals. None are for sale (though they are still for stud/brood for a short period), they are simply there to live out the rest of their lives in peace and comfort. [NOTE: once they are moved to that division, their treats are switched to sugar cubes. i didn't want to waste treats on horses that no longer show, but i also don't want to leave them treat-less either :( so they get sugar cubes for their last 3-4 years of life out in pasture. so keep that in mind if you choose to breed to one of them. their stats won't get SUPER messed up from a couple weeks of cubing, but it is something to keep in mind if  low NSS is something you breed for and if that's something you don't want effecting the foal's stats. if it is a problem for you, instead i would advise either breeding to the younger show stock that still get the proper treats for their disciplines, or seeing if any of the studs/broodmares on my main account might be a better fit for what you want.]

If you use breeding services for any of these horses, they will be moved into the locked retiree division so that your foals' lines will be protected (as far as I can help on my end) as long as they're alive and/or have produced offspring of their own.

|SHOWING|
As I've mentioned, a partial goal aside from this being a retirement account for my own horses, is to use RC horses to fill up shows. Shows must have 5+ entrants in order for the stat boosts to be attributed (at least, as far as I know. It's possible this has changed with the show grade updates we got a couple years ago, but to my knowledge it has not. Please correct me if I'm mistaken). I've noticed when showing my horses both from my official lines on my main account and the rescues on this one, that often when i enter them in shows, there are are only ever one or two other entrants. sometimes, my horse is the ONLY entrant (which of course is a drain on my time, resources, money, and a detriment to my horses' stats and growth potential). I'm sure other players have experienced similar frustrations. I love this game desperately, but its economy and consequently its shows have suffered severely from the lack of players nowadays.

So we, paradoxically, at the same time suffer from a lack of shows, and also from not enough entrants in the shows we do have (depending on grade levels and how far along people are in their lines). That is something I hope to help alleviate (at least somewhat, I'm only one person after all) with this account and all my rescues. My intent is not to rack up points and money necessarily via my rescues, but to provide filler for other people who enter their horses. I only ever give my rescues grade 1 tack, which helps prevent them from getting higher placements, since most others are showing their horses in fully upgraded tack. I also pay no mind to NSS, since as I've said I'm not trying to win, so high NSS rescues are actually great finds, since I know they'll have an even lower chance of stealing a placement from more serious entrants.

As for my strategy on how I fill shows without taking spots away from people who actually need them: I log in twice a day, once at a normal time for me to do all of the showing for my main horses, and then i log into this account and check if any shows are running soon (within 1-2 hours) and make sure they've got at least 5 entrants. And then I log in a second time closer to cron (within 2-3 hours of it generally) and enter more shows that will be ending in less than 5 hours and have less than 5 entrants and then I fill it up to the 5 entrant minimum. after both the first and second round of showing, I also create a new show in the same grades that i've filled so that there is always still another show available for people who don't like to enter in super full shows, or in case that initial show fills up to the max before it runs. After I've entered all the horses I have, if I have any shows left I can create, like most I use the Auto-Creator on my remaining show slots.

Hope that makes sense! And I hope I haven't been stepping on any toes or creating any issues with this method I've concocted (by making it more difficult for others to get their horses into shows). I've been very deliberate with how I do this in order to try and prevent that. But either way, if you have any questions, concerns, suggestions, or requests, please don't hold back! My inbox is always open. :)

*NOTE: SOME HORSES UP FOR STUD/BROOD MIGHT BE INBRED!! i don't tend to thoroughly check the pedigrees of rescues when putting them up for stud/brood, because these guys aren't my primary breeding stock and that's not always something players care about anyway, especially if it's not on the first page of the pedigree. but if it's something you do care about, make sure to always check the FULL pedigree before you breed to another player's stud/broodmare! if you have used this service from me without realizing a horse's lines were not clean, feel free to message me about it (preferably on my main, but here's fine too, i just might take longer to get back to you). while i'm not responsible for it, i've also been there too where i mistakenly bought/bred a horse with inbred lines, so i understand the frustration. i am always open to trying to work something out if a mistake is made!
