Orca (caus why not?)

Well, this isn't just any Orca... this is a thing I did for Tilikum, who had lived at the SeaWorld facility in Orlando Florida. Who had died on January 6th.

I don't believe in the capturing whales for enjoyment (why not just go on a whale watch and see them in their free, happy state?), but please do not make this into an argument - because I know there are disbelievers in this and believers. And I know everyone has their own opinions on this topic. But that is mine, please leave it at that ♥

I guess this is pretty much a contribution to him. It's not too great, but this is my... first time ever doing a whale (trad/digital) so I'd also love some critique on it if you have anything.

I'd love to hear what you think about this!

Rest in peace Tilly

Aww, so sad :( I like the sketch a lot :]

I think the body/tail could be longer. The tail fin on the digital is stunning!

His nose is a bit long and more horse-like than fish-like ;) I would also make his eye less noticeable (looking at photos, it's hard to even find his eyes at all!). The visible eye gives him an expression, but I think the beauty in things like Orcas is that they are sheer black and white and we can't really make out their faces.

Maybe round out his fins, more like a paddle shape? Some of the pictures I find have very narrow thins, and others are more rounded, so you could go either way with that.

And finally, this sad tribute...

Thank you so much! I will definitely be taking all your suggestions when I go to make a v2! (And thank you for the photo refs! I'm saving them all right now).

Thank you for your tribute ♥
