This suggestion has been marked as "Added To The Game". Thank you, Saditome, for the suggestion and to those of you who supported for making Equiverse better!

I’ve noticed an absolutely HUGE increase in the price of evc lately.

I’m proposing that we make the “base” value of evc like 150k, and the posted price of evc can only be 50% over the current average price for evc. (So the first person to post evc has a cap of 225k, and since the new avg would be 225k the second person to sell evc would have a cap of 337.5k and so on)

OR

We could implement a cap of 50k over the current average with the base average (when none are for sale) being 150k instead of 60k

Thoughts? Improvements?

I’m just surprised because a few years ago evc used to go for 50k each, and the price of evc has suffered a huge inflation somewhere over that time period.

Ok I have one edit that I’ve been thinking about… Even a base price of 150k seems high because people could save up their show earnings for months and not even get 1 credit. The only way to earn that kind of money is from being an artist, which most of us are not. This gives the advantage of credits strictly to those who can 1) draw well enough to sell art for credits and 2) have enough income to buy credits with real money. This creates a disadvantage for everyone who does not fit into one of those categories.

Hmmm I’m not sure I agree with limiting how much somebody can sell their credits for since they did purchase it for real money they should decide how much they want to sell it for. Maybe instead have the ability to purchase x amount of credits from the site directly with EVD per week/month based on a “base rate” but if you want more, then whoever is selling can list for however much they’d like.

I like that idea, it could also be one of those mechanisms that “suck up” EVD from the game (like increasing horse limit prices)

The more I think about it the more I like it.

It would create an artificial “base” price for the currency, giving players something to go off of, and it would encourage people to sell their credits for less (not everyone, just preventing the sale of 1 evc for like 350k+ evd), but there would be no technical limit for this.

EVC sales is where EV earns its money to be online as well as for art, etc. So I don't think being able to buy from the site with EVD is a good idea for that reason.

As for people being able to set their price, they could just do the opposite of what I do now, which is when I need EVC I ask for people who are willing to sell between 50-75k in the forums, which I haven't had too much of a problem getting. So people could always be like selling this many EVC for x amount each still.

There is always a work around for either way, though I personally can't see paying so much for a single EVC when I'll never get my money's worth back for it (though I often feel that way about items if I pay 50-75k so grain of salt :'D ).

It would be nice to go to the EVC Sales things and find some for what I would feel is a more reasonable price though.

We already had a soft cap on what EVC could be listed as, you could only list it for a certain % higher than what was already listed. Players abused this by listing singular evc until they got to the price they wanted, and would buy any credits priced lower than their own to monopolise the market. I don’t feel like implementing another will do anything about the inflated prices.

As Wiki said, plenty of people are willing to sell cheaper through the forums or on discord, they just don’t tend to sell on the actual market for it as credit flippers tend to snap them up to relist.
