Does anyone know of a beginner yoga thing on either youtube or maybe a channel on Roku or Wii? Or at least anything I could start getting into? Mind you, it'd have to be super beginner because.. I really doubt I could get into half of those positions without having an ambulance standing by. -is accident prone-

I use an app called Pocket Yoga for my yoga practice - it is paid but it only costs once (and not a lot at that), and it has three difficulty levels with three options for type of practice and time duration. It has guidance for breathing and a little person to show you the positions of the postures, and a 'dictionary' of them so you can look up any you want to know more about.

I have the Mac desktop version of it. I'm not sure if there is a Windows one too bu there may be. Also from the name it sounds like there is probably an app too.

As for channels on things, I have no idea. I've only ever had one recommended to me and I can't even remember the name. :/

Mouse, I just started doing "Yoga with Adrienne" on Youtube (literally typed in beginners yoga and it was one of the first things) she has a 30 day thing I'm gonna start soon, but even before that she has a 20 minute intro video you can watch as much as you need. I'm literally the least flexible person ever, but she stresses going at your pace and copying her as well as you're able, so you don't feel as bad for not doing as well. I can't even hold most of the positions for very long but what matters is you're doing it and building toward it. :)

NY might be in my trip, but it's mostly out west.

I second yoga with adrienne. I've never really gotten into it because I like making up my own flows (haha, not certified but could totally lead EV yoga), but the videos I did do I loved, and my old trainer cannot speak highly of it enough.

It's all about getting on your mat and trying your best. I got super discouraged because I started with a gymnast friend and I couldn't do the poses as "well" as her, but that's not what it was important!!

Guys! If you haven't seen yet, or forgot, remember today is the start of the "Fill the Tank" water challenge! Start logging your water consumption so we can start adding fishies!

Is this a daily thing or do we only post how much water we've consumed once a week?

If daily: 47.4oz (5.9 cups) so far.

I've only had about 32 oz...uh oh

A good rule of thumb is half your body height (lbs) in ounces is how much water you need.

I have been told this by my cross country coach as well as students majoring in exercise science.

I've heard the half your weight rule before (someone else recommended it to a girl for weight loss) but how effective is it the heavier you get? If you start getting close to and especially over about 250 then that's just way too much water. I'd have to drink 100 oz of water and I don't even think I drink 100 oz total of anything throughout the day lol who thought of this??? Not saying it's bad by any means I'm just conflicted about the practice and effectiveness of this in overweight people.
