[Cinch] Name Me?

#175120 Posted on 2018-06-17 11:54:31

Hi everyone. According to my last post... I've disappeared for 3 months again. My job takes a lot of my time, so I've just given up on online games pretty much but I still like to pop in every now and then.

I brought my puppy home 3 months ago about, and we named him Sage (Sageory Joe is what I often call him.) He is a little wild child, but also sweet as they come. We're still struggling with potty training, but we'll get there. It was still "winter" when we brought him home so it was a slow start, but he's getting there. Chase and him fit perfectly together. Chase is learning to stand up for himself and has had to put Sage in his place a few times.

First photo is of him the day after I brought him home. Second picture is of him just last week, nearly 5 months old.

In other news, I also had sold my horse Royce. I bought him right before I broke my ankle, and after not seeing him for 2+ months... I couldn't connect with him and I had no desire of going out to see him. My barn owner was interested in buying him, so we went ahead and sold him to her. I thought part of the issue was him being a youngster and my injuries preventing me from working with young horses. But I realized that working with young horses WAS still in my dreams and it was truthfully just not having a connection with Royce.

My friend has a few foals a year, and one pairing has always been my favorite. Both dam and sire are on the shorter side, but also thick built. Perfect for someone like me who is short, but a little on the heavier side of things. I asked my friend to give me a shout when the mare foaled, especially if it was a filly.

Well, I got a message about a month ago saying she had foaled. She confirmed it was a filly and I could come out to see her. While she's got no white markings like I like, she's a solid built foal and has the potential still to varnish. Mom is a black varnish mare and sire is a cremello dun. So I've got myself a lovely dunskin filly. The color genetics experts believe she does have the LP gene, which as a result is making her darker than your standard dunskin. Only time (or testing) will tell.

She is a little firecracker, full of sass. I get to go work with her and she's slowly coming around. I can't wait to get her to an actual boarding facility and work with her more.

But... she needs a name. She was going to be called Moxie, but I didn't like that too much (plus i don't need her living up to that name, lol!). Nothing has clicked yet with her, so would really love some fresh eyes to give some thought.

Left is her yearling brother, middle is her dam, and then of course her little cuteness.

Hi,

What a Cutie!, she is so beautiful. ♥️♥️♥️

Are you sure she wasn’t born a unicorn and they removed her horn? Because she has the mark in the middle of her forehead. I’m just kidding, I hope I didn’t offend you.

Aww she's so fluffy & cute!!

I love the Forehead whirl marking. It looks like a starburst. So I'd potentially call her that! "Starburst" or maybe "Supernova" Though I appreciate it could look different when she gets bigger so you might want to wait a while :)

She looks like a Carina to me. It means "Little Darling" and is also the name of one of the stars in the Orion constellation just in case her little starburst sticks around.

She's incredibly cute! I can't think of any names that would fit this adorable girl, but I love the ones everyone else suggested!
