I'm Sad - My Cat Has Gone Missing/Left Home

Well as the title suggests the rescue cat I adopted in Jan this year has gone missing since Tuesday. We've searched the local neighbourhood & beyond but still no sign of her. We dont live on a main road so I dont think she's been in a "fight" with a car :s

She isnt a stranger to wandering & does like to be outside (despite me trying to make her a house cat only!) as she was found as a stray before I got her but at least now if she is found she's microchipped & registered to me so Im just hoping she turns up somewhere. 

We've printed some flyers & distributed them today so hopefully someone has spotted her. Though as she likes to hide in random places its entirely possible any search party wouldnt think to look in the spot she's picked to hide in.

Fingers crossed she's just wandering & nothing sinister has happened to her (theres a cruel cat killer on the loose in our country -people are despicable. Grr) or maybe she just got fed up of me & found herself a new home! Cats do choose their owners after all not the other way around.

Aww, I hope she shows up, I know I would be distraught. I've heard that putting a favorite toy and/or food and water outside can sometimes help draw a pet back to you. I dunno if it would work or not but I hope she comes back to you.

Hate that happened! I know the feeling, trust me. My older cat has been missing for months now and all I can hope is someone is taking care of her though I seriously doubt this but, it keeps my head up. :(

@River - I keep leaving food out for her (though the neighbours cat from a few doors down thought it was xmas as I buy better food for my cat than his owner & he was munching on it this morning when I went out for milk!) but I didnt think about a toy. I'll try it anyway.

@ Dopey - oh no Im sorry to hear that. Im just doing the same hoping someone will take her in even if they dont think to take her to a vet /rescue ctr to check for a microchip.

Oh what's up with all these cats going missing or dying right now? I'm seeing it everywhere. It's awful :/ mine died a few days ago, got run over by a car.

Aww, I’m sorry to hear that. Hopefully she’ll come back soon. 

One time, I rattle my cat's bag of treats and call her name, she came home that day. Now she is a house cat.
I hope you cat comes back.

that's terrible ♥ I hope you find her/she comes back soon! Just keep your eyes open for her. *hugs* Ohhh if I had a missing cat I would be just heartbroken, I wish you all the luck in the world that you find her! ;_;

Yikes! That's happened to me before. One of our in/out cats we hadn't seen in a long time and many months later he came back. Very weird. He as very thin and we have no idea what happened to him, maybe someone found him and took him away and tried to keep him? He got away and found his way home? No idea! And late last year one another on our our cats hadn't been home in a couple of days, it wasn't entirely unlike her but not something she had done in quite a long time. I decided I'd check our local lost and found cat Facebook pages and low and behold there she was! The really stupid thing is me and my dad had actually seen them trying to catch her but had no idea what was going on at the time. She had been injured (not very severely) and the SPCA had picked her up, cost us $900 to get her back for the vet care costs (and they didn't even find out or fix what was wrong with her).
