Which art program do y'all work with to make characters, tags, signatures, etc? I use to make a few things like 6 years ago but don't remember the program i used lol. Plus i have a mac laptop now (looking to get a desktop sometime this year as well). Which art programs work with a mac?

I would prefer a free program but if its a program under $50 ill maybe give it a try. I want something that does layers and everything else. User friendly as well since I'm not too tech savvy.

I use Gimp
It's free, and I do believe it works well with Mac (but don't quote me on that, lol). As far as I'm concerned, it's just about as good as Photoshop, although I'm sure Photoshops has some extra perks. But Gimp is pretty good. (;

GIMP is definitely nowhere near as good as Photoshop, but it's a decent free alternative. I use Paint Tool SAI. It's about 50 USD, although the price changes with the fluctuation of the worth of the Yen. It's almost exactly $50 right now. I love it. Krita and FireAlpaca are both popular (free) programs, as well.

I use Firealpaca, it's free and super easy to use, without being really simple. I would recommend it! ;)

GIMP does work on a Mac but it's not the best option - when I had it installed a longgg time ago it required an additional download of some software to make it work so I wouldn't recommend it. FireAlpaca works fine and is free and pretty decent (it had a line stabilizer if that interests you), but since you have a Mac you may as well check out the app store too for some options. There are free ones there like AutoDesk Sketchbook so you might want to look into that too.
