Closed-The Story of Argo and Sela

Role Play between me and Annabeth #52208

Sela reared as the human whipped her with his whip of torment, something almost every horse feared. Crimson droplets of blood ran down her face and coat, the beatings leaving a pink scar. She let out a neigh of emergency, hoping someone might hear her calling for help. If not...well she wouldn't last long.

Argo heard a scream. One of a horse. He could tell that he had to do something, and fast. He galloped towards the direction of the sound, hurrying .

(I need to go to bed, I'm tired. I'll reply to your reply tomorrow. Night! :) )

The deadly lashes continued, her feet no longer wanting to hold themselves up and her consciousness begging her to black out. One more neigh arose from her muzzle before she fell to the ground. The lunatic man raged in anger, continuing to lash at her with the whip that he treasured.

Argo slidded to a stop right in from of a round pin, where a man was beating a mare, who had fallen unconscious. "Hey!" Argo screamed. He galloped and jumped over the fence landed in the pin. He kicked and bucked at the man violently until he was forced to leave. Before jumping out of the pin, the man screamed "Wild beast!" And hit Argo with as much as force he could muster. He hit left a large gash on his headquarters, but he didn't care. Argo slowly walked over to the mare put his head down, and blew some air at her. She was covered in blood, all over. "Hey, are you awake?" Argo asked.

She heard muffled noises, wondering if it was the man yelling at her or did someone come to help her. Slowly she opened her eyes, her vision was blurred, allowing her only to see the shape of a horse. Somehow she managed to wake, even though it seemed impossible. "Yes.." the word breathed out from her mouth, almost sounding like her last word.

Argo noticed she was in desperate need of help, so he quickly thought of a solution, even if it gave himself away. A bright white unicorn horn and dappled gray wings appeared after a shine of light. He gently touched his horn to her cheek, hoping she'd wake. He quickly flew off to outside the pin, into the cover of trees, standing and watch the injured mare wake. He new once she'd wake, he'd have to leave. He couldn't be seen again after he saved someone, even though he knew he'd get caught if he stayed, he knew he had to.

The mare finally awoke, just in time too for the man was stomping his way back over to the corral. After a second attempt of trying to stand up she finally achieved her goal. Mustering up all the strength she could she trotted out of the pin, a trail of blood following behind her. All but two of her legs limped as she slowly trotting out of the corral.

Argo knew he couldn't leave the mare alone. It was his duty as a Celestial Herd member. Once you've touched a animal's life, you must stay with them for the rest of their lives. Of course, everyone knew that breeding with animals outside the Celestials was forbidden. If done, you would lose all powers and be cast away, forever. With a shine of white light, Argo's horn and wings disappeared. The same would happen if the animal were to find out about Celestial's powers. He looked like every other horse, a dapple gray one. He slowly walked then trotted towards the mare. "Hey? What happened back there? I heard screaming, flashes of light... You're lame on two legs, I think you should sit down and get weight of your legs. What's your name by the way?" He said.

"No, I can't. I must hurry before he catches me. My name is Melusine." she replied, her tone weak but still kind. Melusine was a beautiful golden champagne mare, with blue eyes and white markings, but the scars had bled so much that they covered her coat. She looked like a natural mare, but there was something different about her.

(Pronounced MEL-u-sine)

Another rule of the Celestials was no matter how much the animal wanted you to leave, you couldn't. "Not here. I know a place. Oh, my name is Argo. It's in the woods, just over there. There's water, grass, and a cave." Argo trotted off towards the area he had mentioned.

Melusine felt a little repulsed by how he said 'and a cave', but shook away her feelings for the present moment and nodded. "Alright, I'll go with you." she answered carefully, gathering up more strength and pursuing the walk.

Argo trotted toward the cave, and creak. "There's grass in there and medicine." Argo said. He hoped she'd be willing to go in, because the only way he could use his powers were she was asleep. He trotted off into a spot were she couldn't see him, changed, and focused he powers for her to fall asleep.

After they reached where he talked about, she suddenly felt a pang of tiredness. The urge to go into the cave and sleep consumed her, causing Melusine to go into the cave. Quietly she laid down on the cold ground, quickly falling asleep thereafter.

Argo watched the mare go into the cave, lay down and fall asleep. He quickly changed, and touched his horn to her check. A ray of light, when through his horn, and quickly healed every scratch on her. "That should make your feel better." Argo whispered. He walked out of the cave, changed and waited outside for her to wake up.
