Favorite Western Saddle Pad?

I decided to go with a Diamond Wool folks, suggestions no longer needed XD

So we've come to the conclusion my Showman pad slips like crazy on Pepper. The bottom is just too slick, and the pad is also way too long for her (I bought it because my former saddle needed a pad that big).

I'm now having to saddle pad shop, and struggling with a good option that isn't going to break the bank. I'm aware of 5Star, but also looking to see what else others have used and like.

I'm looking more for wool pads vs anything else. I'm not a huge fan of neoprene, not sure why, just a preference.

And no, the saddle pad slipping has nothing to do with my saddle fit. We've used 2 other wool pads and there was no slipping even after a 2 hour trail ride. So definitely just the Showman being too slick.

I have a friend that is a Rep. for CSI Pads. I don't ride western, so my opinion is pretty much useless- but I hear really wonderful things about them. They are definitely expensive, but from what I gather well worth it.

Pretty and classy too.

I own two wool felt pads, both are split down the spine, have wither relief, and are contoured - one is Diamond Wool and the other is Classic Equine. They have gone through quite a bit of hard riding and are still in excellent condition. I have not experienced any problems with them.

I believe that these pads are the same as what I have, if not they are at least pretty similar.

Liss - CSIs are definitely spendy. And I've got a husband that gets all bug eyed when the price is high for "just a saddle pad" lol!

Roanwatch - We picked up a Diamond Wool. I wanted to get something I could pick up in store, so that's what was available. Was one of my choices anyhow ... eventually I'll get the elusive 5Star... lol

I use a weaver fleece back western pad.

Now. I am an English gal that rides western so prices on these things are not my thing. I believe I paid $70 for my weaver pad, and it has been great for me. It seems slightly large to me, and can be hard to fit, but that may just be English talking. For a pad, it doesn't slip, and it is nice and padded for a sensitive back. It ain't nothin special, but it gets the job done. :)

Impact Gel!! They are a little bit costy but if you find one used you could get a good deal. They have the fitted pad or a square pad. I got my sister one similar to the pic below for $20 bucks and it retails for about $100. These pads last a really long time and they don't move an inch! I can't say enough about how awesome these pads are!
