What the title says. From what I've seen, if there's inbreeding visible on the first page of a horse's pedigree, pretty much everyone considers that inbred. What about past the first page? Say a horse has some inbreeding in its great-great-great-great-great-grandparents' generation (two generations past the first page of the pedigree). Is that still "inbred"?

In my opinion once you can't see it, it's not there. Although I don't believe you can say they have an entirely clean pedigree. It's a fine line.

i agree, i usually just check the first page and only look beyond if i'm curious whether there's precode lines or my own. i don't mind a bit of inbreeding though, like say 1 horse showing up twice or the inbreeding being far off in the pedigree (great grandparents or further).

If the inbreeding isn't on the first page, you have a clean line, squeaky clean is a horse with no inbred lines, some clubs will not allow you to register an inbred clean line with no visible inbreeding. These clubs check the entire horse's parentage, and if they find one name in red they won't register that horse.
