Training and showing methods

I was curious to know  what others think about how they think they can be successful players, what methods they use to get winners either through breeding, feeding and training. Is is just luck that you get a good horse? Is a good horses born, bred, trained, fed treats all of these. Does training youngstock make any difference? Are stats everything? Does horse's experience have an advantage?

Success in shows?

Foundation level or below non-speciality stats (sub 60), 5/5 upgraded tack, speciality treats and regular care/training will help you to show well. If you are focusing on show horses they need to stay specialised in their discipline, and for showing foals you need to breed the same disciplines together, also with correct nss.

Foal training gives you a stats boost by the end of it, the more varied the training the higher the boost but doesn't impact anything else. Adult training decreases the level of luck/randomness to your score so you have more consistent results by level 5. It also gives you stat increases for every 10 sessions which are based on your horse's level.

Exp/points have no use in shows currently. Or conformation, but it doesn't hurt to breed for.
