Alice in Wonderland Movie?

Thinking about renting Alice in Wonderland for tonight. What did you guys think of the movie? This is the 2010 version with Johnny Depp, Mia Wasikowska, Helena Carter, etc. Directed by Tim Burton.

Loved it. And with the new one coming out there wouldn't be a better time to see it. XD

That's why I wanted to watch this one so I would have a backstory for the new one. Watched the trailer for the new one and my brother is like, "But we need to see the firs t one first." I'm like "What first one?!" Looked it up. Wabam! And with Johnny Depp, one of my favorite actors. XD

I actually didn't enjoy that movie very much...! I don't know what it was, I thought the CGI was beautiful, and the colors were fantastic, and I absolutely adore Tim Burton as well as Helena and Johnny as artists. But it's always been my least favorite of his more...."out there" movies. I also dislike the actress who plays Alice....well, I don't dislike /her/, but I think her acting would be better suited for a different role. I dunno. Never been a fan.

Added a thing. What would you rate the movie 1-10?

I thought it was a great movie, but unfortunately I agree with Zell, her acting style (Alice) was not exactly the greatest for the role. To me she felt like Natalie Portman in the Star Wars prequels - Stiff and Flat. It certainly wasn't a note worthy performance.

As for Johnny Depp's role....one of my most favorite actors of all time...ever since POTC, it feels like they've been type casting him for those sort of "Airy" roles. His Hatter felt like Jack Sparrow shoved into a new costume and world to me.

Never the less, he did perform the role VERY well, but, it just felt like a recostumed Jack Sparrow to me.


Rating scale: 7/10

Not the best, but a good strong movie none the less.

Well, we're gonna rent it but still want to hear your thoughts. My dad's gonna make homemade poppy corn. ♥

It's a cool movie, no doubt about it. It's fun for kids, too. I guess if you're not too analytical about it, it's great xD

Any humor? I'm hoping for some from the Mad Hatter (I found some of his lines in the trailer for the new movie funny).
