Long story short, I was a cosmetology student before things started going south for me, and as such, I acquired quite the collection of nail polishes, which are now sitting around doing..welp, nothing. If/when my health gets better, I am considering maybe going for just the nail tech stuff. So there's why a grown man has nail polish.


Anyways, I digress.

So as I said, they're sitting around doing nothing...the roomie is going through the colors and asks what I plan to do with them, why I don't just get hands to practice the acrylics and stuff on because I used to be very passionate about my nail art, and, was actually fairly good at it, if I may toot my own horn, well he found this holo flakey top coat and gunmetal black color, and asked if he could paint my nails. I said, sure whatever, I don't care...and now my nails look funky. Like..rainbow black dragon scales

Those flakey polishes are really fun - I had one that was silver and it looked great over a darker color like that too, but sadly it dried up a while ago. I've heard there is a kind that changes color with temperature too, which always sounded awesome, but I've never found one. Maybe they're just a myth. XD

Oh no, they exist, I almost bought one until I saw they were 20 dollars a bottle.

-snugs- You can always come practice on my nails. At a later date, that is. Managed to slice through my left middle fingernail last night. May I just say... OW! Yeah. It bled for a good long while. -_-

Yeah, no kidding. The most I vowed to pay for a pot of polish was 10 dollars, and considered them an investment, because I was..doing nails on the side for a bit of extra grocery money here and there lol

I have a collection of funky nail polish too that I used to play with, but I can't wear it at my current job ; - ; from the picture yours does look neat though! The flaky stuff is so hard to get perfect, I had a bottle of purple and it always felt so heavy when I put it on.

You should totes make it a horse design :P

I actually am working on a dragon pon character design right now. just. becuase. LOL

I need to work on individual character uniqueness since I FEEL like I've got shading and recolors down...mostly.

I don't like to spend much more than five or six dollars on nail polish, but that's cause I only use it for myself. The most unusual one I had was this magnetic kind, when you put on one layer and let it dry, then put on another very thick layer and hold the magnet that came with the polish over each nail for a couple seconds so it will leave behind a wave pattern. I hope that ones not dried up too cause it looked really cool.
