Rulers of the Savanna pt. 2 RP

Jewl and the other lioness with the queen were on the hunt. Stopping suddenly and looking at Chula she gasped with horror "Do you hear that?" she stepped foreword with a limp and looked around to see where it was coming from. Looking back to Chula and stepping back "You dont think Solo's in danger?" she commented fear ebbing in to her words that escaped her mouth. Quartz was behind them every time they stopped she went and hid behind a rock so they wouldn't see her.

Nafsi had stayed behind from the hunt, worried she would only mess things up because of her lack of hunting skills. She raised her head when she heard Scar ramble on about Solo. She jumped to her paws, suddenly wide awake and alert. She had seen the gorge when she was traveling to get here to join the pride. She didn't hesitate, running towards where she remembered the gorge was.
Once there, she jumped and slid down the ledges until she was as low as she could get safely.
"SOLO!!" She roared loudly, but it only put more panic into the herd. "Solo, where are you?!" She called again, worry in her voice, anxiety causing her hair t stand on end. "Solo please answer me!" She called once more.

"Wait, what?" Chula listened intently, herd some rumble, and then gasped. "Run ladies!!!" For the buffalo herd were stampeding out of the gorge and racing right toward them. The lionesses barely escaped their pounding hooves as they took shelter in the trees and rock formations in that area of the Savanna.

"ROAR!!!!!!!!" Suddenly a shape burst out of the pride, leaped, and barely managed to hang onto the sheer cliffs. Solo growled, climbing up the wall, and tried to get to a ledge near the top. "Dad!!!" Shula and Scar cried out, reaching the edge of the gorge, and staring down with horror. Kori stood just beside them, quiet, pale as a ghost, and stared with fear. Zira decided to make herself scarce for awhile and slunk away; using the dust caused by the stampede to camouflage herself. Shula carefully made his way down to the ledge Solo was desperately trying to reach, got his balance, and reached out for his dad. "Dad! Please take hold of my paw!" Solo gasped, panting for breathe, and reached out his own paw. But, the walls were beginning to crumble under his great weight, he started to struggle to even hold onto the tiny ledges his back paws were on, started to slide down, and barely caught a hold again. "Shula, I can't hold on son. I can't reach you!!!!" Solo cried out in fear, trying to hold on, but the walls began to give way. Scar ran off, yelling back, "I'm going to find another way down, below Dad, to catch him if he falls. Kori nodded and suddenly jumped down herself. Shula looked at her with surprise but she said. "I'll hold you Shula! You grab your Dad!" The future King and Queen worked together, Kori holding Shula firmly, but just as Shula and Solo grabbed each other's paws, the wall gave way, and Solo fell down, then barely managed to grab a hidden ledge, that Scar had managed to find his way down too, grabbed Solo, but Solo's downward fall was too much for the ledge, it crumbled under the pressure and both Solo and Scar began to fall to their death's. Shula cried out in horror, to see his Dad and Brother falling, then suddenly had a surge of hope when he saw them scrambling on the wall before it fell away into the deep gorge, but Solo lost his grip, and fell down, down, down, down, down. "AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!" Solo roared as he fell into the stampeding herd. "DAD!!!!!!!!!!" Both Shula and Scar yelled, one horrified, while the other felt slight guilt at the plan working.

Jewl looked in horror at Chula then to the lionesses then back to the stampeding buffalo coming at them. Knowing in her head she couldn't run that fast she started limping fast walking after the other lionesses. Looking behind her blinking her emerald green eyes in horror as they gained faster speed at her. Looking at where the lionesses and Chula jumped she couldn't make it from that far. Jumping to the other side that was steep and had the ranging river below. As Jewl jumped she dug her claws out to grip the soil ut mis judged the leap rolling over the side. Clinging to the side of the steep gorge she let out a roar for help for anyone to help her.

Quartz gasped hearing the thundering of hooves on the ground that made her tremble. Turning to the roar and seeing her mother leap for the other side tears pricked her eyes for fear. "Mommy!" she said with a squeal as she scrambled up on top of a little tree that stood to the side of the stampede.

Chula gasping for breathe, looked around, could see all but one of her lionesses safe. She gasped again, when she saw Jewl struggling for a hold on the gorge wall that went into the river, raced around and through the racing buffalo, and leaped across the gorge herself. "Grab my paw Jewl!!!!" She reached down for Jewl, but a blurry shape shoved her aside, and grabbed the lioness around her neck; dragging her to safety. Chula got up fast, snarled, then stopped at the male, who looked at her with his permanent snarl face, nodded to them, and trotted off. "Wait! Who ARE you?!" Chula called after him, the male turned around, and looked at her with blue eyes. "My name is Ntwadumela, your highness." He disappeared into the grass and left Chula nuzzling Jewl. "Wake up Jewl. You're okay. You're safe."

Jewl blinked open her eyes fear shining in them as she nuzzled Chula in fear. "All I remember is us running and me leaping and clinging on for dear life..." she said standing up shaking. Looking at her with worry "We have to find Solo...now" she said fear once more ebbing into her words as she looked off into where the male lion went to that she smelled heavily. Looking back at Chula waiting for an answer from the queen.

"Yes!!! Let's go!!!!" Chula got down low, growled, and leaped across the river gorge once more. She called for the lionesses, for the stampede was over, the buffalo were into the Savanna, and the pride followed their Queen into the dust filled gorge.

Coughing hard from all the dust, Shula made his way down the path from the Buffalo plain, and down the dust-filled gorge. "Dad? Scar?! Where are you guys?!" He called through the dust, not being able to see anything. Some rocks were disturbed, down the way, then a heavy thud, and Shula asked, "Dad?" A groan answered, Shula raced down to where it came from, and found Scar laying on the ground with a few rocks on him. "Scar!" Shula rolled the rocks off his brother, helped him up, and Scar groaned again. "I had him. I can't believe I didn't get a good hold on him." "No, it..... it was my fault. I should've grabbed him. You did the best you could. But, where is he? Where's our dad?" Scar looked at Shula with tears in his eyes and nodded to an indent nearby, "Down there. That ledge I fell on broke apart when I tried to jump down, that's what caused that thud you heard." He walked off with a limp, Shula following quickly, and both brothers looked into the indent that had been created by the buffalo stampeding. Solo's broken and bloody body lay there, his fur all mussed up, mane covered in dust, mud, some manure, and blood. Broken rocks from his fall lay littered around and on his body. But his face, though it was bloody, he still looked noble, and kingly. "Dad......... I'm so sorry......" Shula whispered, tears streaming down his face, and began to sob uncontrollably. Scar lowered his head, tears flowing out of his eyes, and sat down.

(Nasfi has joined her half-brother, King Solo, and his pride in his kingdom. Then, a strange lioness showed up, whose name was Zira, and became mate's with Solo's illegible son Scar. She was given to King Kalikow to be his mate, but fought her way lose, and ran off to the forbidden volcano to live. She rejoined with Scar and together they plotted the demise of Solo; for she had twisted the truth that Scar was kept from being the heir because of Chula's jealousy of Solo's true love, Scar's mother Asia. He allowed her to manipulate him, for he loved her with all his heart, and together they plotted to start a stampede with the water buffalo to trample the King. Shula, Scar's half-brother, would not be able to grab Solo, and Scar would attempt to grab his father; but wasn't able too, for it was either him, or his father. Solo was trampled to death and the two sons are weeping for their father.)

"Boo!!!!" Brutus chuckled as he popped out from around the corner to surprise his mate. He winked at her and touched her delicate nose with his tongue. "I love you babe." Then, a rumble caught his attention, he looked up with alarm, and the entire Savanna pride started to see the water buffalo herd stampeding from their favorite grazing spot at the end of the gorge extremely panicked. "What on earth? What caused them to stampede?" Kacy commented but the pride had no intention of trying to figure it out now. When the water buffalo stampeded, getting out of, and staying of their way was the wisest thing to do.

Sally paused, her fur on edge. "B-Brutus??" She stared at him, her eyes wide. "Nothing's wrong, is it??" She padded to him and pressed her fore head into his mane under his chin as he stared off.

Bahari awoke from her rock by the priding of Skano and Kubadilli. "Bahari!!!!" The cheetah mix screeched in her tiny voice. "W-water buffalo..." She panted, angling towards the herd that was only a few meters away. "Oh, that," the lioness murmured, before quickly coming to her senses. "Oh lords of the skies, don't let me perish!!!!" She cried as the three tore over the long grass, veering out of the herd's path. They ducked into the watering hole, with a ruffled Skano floating atop the water.

(Is the volcano the same one Stone and Rock were born in?)

(Yes. They had been gone for a long time and an evil spirit of an ancient enemy of any descendants of Mufasa's line took over the volcano.)

The water buffalo finally slowed down, blowing out through their nostrils, snorting, and grunting as they settled down to graze once more. They had no idea that they had accidentally trampled King Solo and thought they were just running from two rogues.

Zuberi and Marizan stood on a small hill, watching the water buffalo settle down to graze again, and wondered what caused them to stampede.

Nafsi's head hung low, feeling as if it was her fault. She could've saved him, but she didn't. She turned, walking to the two boys, her nephews, and offering a weak, sympathetic smile. "I know this probably won't help, but you two had a great father. Better than he and I ever had." She said quietly, before walking away, feeling tears fill her eyes, but she shook her head. She refused to cry, not in front of her nephews or the rest of the pride. Not in front of anyone, not even herself. It wasn't worth it, looking like a cub, especially when she had been raised to never show weakness or to act like a fool.

Bahari emerged from the water, gasping. Skano fluttered to the bay, shaking out his feathers. Gazing around, he spotted the unmistakeable silhouette of Zuberi and Marzipan upon the hill, and the bold Kifo creeping up on them.

The tan male slipped though the grass, and halted right by his brother's tail. He carefully pressed his muzzle against it, and snorted. He took the tail in his jaw and gripped as hard as he could, bracing for the impact of a scared elephant, or lion.

Marzipan growled and whirled on his brother. "KIFO! Now is not the time for your games!!!" He slapped Kifo's face with a paw, making sure to keep his claws sheathed, and jerked his tail loose.
