if Player A has a mare for brood and Player B has a stallion for stud, Player C could request a breeding between both horses and be charged the cumulative stud and brood fees, and receive the foal after both Player A and Player B had accepted (assuming both horses are for private stud - if public the breeding could be automatic)

I think this could encourage the mixing of lines between players and solve an issue i often have, namely "Finding a nice horse for Stud/Brood but not having a good mate available"

edit: this could also be used for Player X to request a breeding between Player Y's mare and also one of Player Y's stallions.

Hm...this sounds a bit complex coding-wise, but I support! Could also be helpful for a dedicated new player willing to spend a bit of cash for a starter herd with as close to 'custom' horses as you can get without spending EVC.

I love the idea! It would be great to breed a horse with good stats without having to buy the good stat horses!

The economy already is poor. I don't see a benefit to this plus the complexity of coding this would probably be more hassel than it is worth. No support.

@Nevermore, could you explain how an addition to the game that would allow for another type of economic exchange would worsen the economy? if anything, i think this might help to increase it by encouraging multi-player economic exchanges.

also, i believe we’ve been advised to not consider the back-end issues when it comes to voting for suggestions (ie cost of artwork, coding, etc)

If the coding for it is too complex then an alternative could be to add people in almost like a group chat. Player a being you, then adding player b and c to see if everyone agrees and then money could be split between b and c. Just an idea

Edit, there would be the problem of people being offline at the time or for long periods of time

^ We already have a sort of group chat function. The leader of a conversation can add or remove members at the bottom.

@khazie, firstly, it is Evermore.   ;)

And, secondly, what I mean about the negative impact on the economy is the horse market is already cluttered with poor quality horses and under priced decent horses. Making more breeding options available means more horses, which means even more clutter of meh in the horse market. And lets face it, a feature like this is most likely to be used by people dumping horses on the market that are undesirable and/or adding some ok horses but at prices that don't actually reflect its value.

Moreover, a lot of people are actually willing to TALK to other players if a player messages them with a reasonable proposal. Example, player asking to buy a foal from the messaged player's mare bred to stallion XYZ owned by player ABC. I guess I am just "old school", but that is just my thought.

whoops, sorry about the name!

I don’t necessarily think that a prevalence of “low quality” horses are the reason our economy is so bad, so while I do see your point, I don’t think such a change would affect the root cause of the poor economy.

I also suggested this after having had quite a few such conversations recently, and thought this might be a slightly more convenient route.

This is an interesting suggestion. I've actually messaged others to see if I could get a foal from two horses they had, so I support this option.

Some players already make these kinds of deal informally so if it's not too difficult to code, I support. A workaround that doesn't involve coding could be to have some kind of group post where people can opt in or out or advertise they are available for this kind of deal?
