Torpid Void

Aerow
Aerow shimmered, almost completely disappearing for a moment. "Yes, it is."

Kaylee
"Good." Kaylee grumbled under her breath, eyebrow quirking a little as she watched Aerow's faint silhouette vanish momentarily. "You alright? Doesn't seem healthy to be disappearing mid-conversation."

Aerow
She shrugged. "Maybe if you'd learn you could do the same. It's quite entertaining."

Harper
Harper hadn't been paying attention to anything that was happening, until she realized the authorities were coming. She yelped quietly in startlement and scrambled behind Louis, mentally cursing herself for being so obviously wanting of protection.

Louis
Louis looked down at Harper curiously, then, realizing she probably had a reason, glanced up to spot the authorities. After a small sigh, Louis surveyed their group. Yeah, they all looked kind of suspicious. Mason seemed to be dying, he had a feeling the lady was probably in trouble, though he wasn't sure why, and the other one... No, he was probably fine. Louis wondered if maybe he would get in trouble for undoing Harper, but c'est la vie. With an internal shrug, he walked confidently toward the authorities to give the others time to either disband or just somehow not get noticed.

Harper
Harper stood there for a minute, taking a few measly steps towards Louis but not going much further. She looked down at her chains, hiding her dagger in it's sheath so it wouldn't add to the possible punishment. 

Louis
Upon reaching the authorities, Louis gave them his most friendly smile. "Hi! I was wondering how one could get a house or similar in this division?" 

People
The man grunted and looked at his partner-in-crime, shrugging at the question. "Most people would have to work for it. You, on the other, are high in rank, so you can go find a deserted house of your choosing."

Louis
Woah, what? "Thanks for your help!" Louis kept his friendly (and very fake, but practiced and realistic) smile plastered on his face as he turned. It immediately dropped. He waved over his shoulder to the authorities and walked back to Harper. 

Harper
Harper tilted her head, watching the athorties grumbling about something, but walking away. She looked back at Louis.

Louis
He met Harper's gaze and shrugged. "I have no idea what just happened. Apparently I'm high rank now, which is... helpful? Anyway, I think that means they won't have to take you away now. So that's good." 

Harper
"Away from where, exactly?" Harper asked.

Louis
"Well, when we first came here, they were going to sell you to some random family, since I wasn't high rank or whatever. But that shouldn't be a problem now." Louis walked the few paces back to the other three. "I'm going to go find a house and set up shop there for now. You guys can join me if you want. A variety of skills can be useful." He thought a moment. "Fair warning, I'm not great at following rules, so if you just want to go under the radar you might want to do your own thing. No dying. And, uh... yeah that's it." Having a house will be great. I miss my apartment already, but it'll be better if I have my own place again. 

Harper
Harper decided she'd go with Louis, considering she needed the protection (regardless of her wanting to admit it).

Alice
Alice glared at the retreating form of a familiar male office, hands curling into fists before forcibly relaxing. "I'll come with you, then. Us rulebreakers might as well stay together."

Kaylee
"I think I'll leave the mystical void stuff to you, honestly." She paused, pulling her now raw knuckle from her mouth and wiping it on her jacket. "Hey, uh, Question? Would swapping divisions just once break our agreement, or?"

Aerow
"Well it'll break our agreement, but I'll allow it," Aerow huffed.
