Only The Strong Survive

Ahanu
"Okay." He did so, albeit slowly and a little apprehensively. Now standing on the ground, Ahanu looked up at Charity. "You didn't answer my question earlier. I-I don't want to press, but... why are you leaving?" 

Charity
Charity stared at the ground for a moment, then nudged her horse into a walk. "You know where to find me if you need help." With that, she trotted down towards the arena.

Ahanu
It felt like somebody had just punched him in the stomach. Ahanu took a shaky breath and led the gelding back down to the paddock. Inside, he figured out how to get the bridal off. The gelding wandered away from him. He didn't really know where to go, so he sat down against the fence and blankly watched the horses from a distance, knees pulled to his chest. 

Charity
Charity led the horse into the arena, doing a few random drills to see how much the mare knew. Her mind thought about Ahanu, a few unbidden tears streaming down her face.

Ahanu
He was trying his best to keep himself together. He noticed one of the horses had separated itself from the others and was walking toward him. He wasn't sure if he should get up or not. It might step on me or something. He didn't move. Ahanu turned his attention to the grass in front of his feet. She didn't answer me. Twice. Is she leaving because of me? The horse was there. He looked up at it. It dipped its head down toward him and he tentatively put his hand on its nose. I did something and now she wants to leave. His hand slid back onto his knees and he stared at his jeans.

Charity
Charity was javing a lot of difficulties getting the horse to slow down. Hot horse... She did multiple circles in a trot for five minutes until the horse finally decided to hold a slow paced trot.

Ahanu
He was startled when the horse laid down next to him. When he first saw it moving down he thought it was going to crush him or something. But no, it just laid there. Ahanu looked at it, shrugged, and returned to thinking about everything. 

Charity

Charity allowed the mare to go into a controlled canter, then stopped her and backed her up a few steps. She wondered if she should go talk to Ahanu or if she should just leave it all be.

Ahanu
At some point his negative thoughts overwhelmed him. His vision blurred and this time the tears slid out. The horse nudged him and he wiped at his eyes as he turned to it (though it didn't do much, since more tears just tumbled out). "What?" A few seconds later, the horse's head was in his lap and his was buried in its mane. 

Charity
Charity brought the horse to a trot, going out of the arena and walking around aimlessly. She brought the horse back up to the stables, untacking it and debating whether to lead it down to the pasture or rearrange the entire stables.

Ahanu
The horse did not seem to mind the fact he was quietly crying on her. She was pretty calm about the whole thing. Ahanu did have to wonder why she even came over here in the first place, but he was glad to have something that seemed to want to help him. 

Charity
Charity silently wondered where Ahanu was, partially debating whether she should go find him. She went to the exit of the building, leaning against the wall and looking down at the pasture of horses. She spotted a smaller form with a horse, and she assumed it was Ahanu, though she wasn't sure if she should go down to see him ir not.

Ahanu
He lifted his head and pawed at his eyes until he was satisfied that no more tears were coming. "You're pretty nice," he commented quietly to the mare, who just blinked at him. She looked pretty happy there. Ahanu sighed and looked up at the sky. A few clouds drifted lazily as if the world underneath wasn't full of chaos and pain and zombies.

Charity
Charity sighed and grabbed her horse, leading it down towards the pasture. 

Ahanu
Movement caught his attention from the corner of his eye. He glanced over. Oh. She's coming out here. Ahanu looked down at the horse. "I have no idea if I'm going to be able to move you," he mumbled. At the moment he was sort of drawing strength (how, he didn't know) from the horse so he wasn't ready to move her anyway.
