Charity
Charity chuckled. "They're just big teddy bears," she mumbled, stroking the horses neck. "I get that, at least a little. I basically grew up with horses so... I guess I understand being nervous around them. I can't imagine life without them around though." Charity shrugged, thinking about how long it had actually been since she was on a horse. She went down to a barn near her school everyday and asked to help with the horses, but never got to ride them. 

Ahanu 
"So now we go up to the stable?" 

Charity
Charity nodded. "If he doesn't move right away just tug on the reigns harder. He should though." Charity started up towards the sable, goung slowly to make sure Ahanu was alright.

Ahanu 
He nodded, taking a few steps forward and simultaneously pulling on the reigns. The gelding followed relatively obediently, which surprised Ahanu. He made it to the stable relatively okay.

Charity
Charity led him to a wall with a rope attached to it. She had left the halter around the horses neck (she didn't want to carry it around), so she attached the rope to the halter, then took the bridal off and put the halter back on the horses face and hung the bridal and reigns up on a nail. She left the horse with Ahanu and went to go grab a box of grooming supplies, then took them back to Ahanu and laid them on the ground. She took out a few brushes and mumbled about which one does what, demonstrated how to use them, then went back into the tack room and came back out with another bridal and a lead rope. "Don't do his hooves- I'll do those for you. If you don't feel comfortable going around his butt, you can steer five feet around it or just wait to go to the other side. Up to you. I'll be back though." She took off in the direction of the pasture again.

Ahanu 
Ahanu listened intently to what each of the brushes did. She left before he could say anything. He looked at the horse a moment, slipping his hands into his pockets. "Hi. I'm Ahanu. I don't know your name." The gelding ignored him. "So, uh, I guess I'm going to groom you now." Still nothing. He wasn't going to complain. Ahanu bent and picked up a brush. He began to work on grooming the gelding, trying to do it like Charity had showed him.

Charity
Charity came back after a moment, leading the same horse that had run off when they first went to the pasture. The mares ears were pinned and she looked obviously annoyed. "I made a friend!!" Charity exclaimed, looking a littler more excited than the horse.

Ahanu 
He looked up from where he was working on the gelding, having gone to the other side. "Doesn't look like the horse agrees," he said with a chuckle. 

Charity
"Yeah, I tried to ride her and she knows nothing," Charity said, linking the horse to the wall. "So I'll just be overly nice and train her."

Ahanu 
"Try not to get hurt." Ahanu finished with the brush he was using and walked back to the basket. "I finished grooming him. Did I do it right?" 

Charity
"Mhmm," Charity hummed, grabbing a hoof picker and picking out the gelding's feet quickly. "I'll tack him up for you." She went back into the tack room and grabbed a saddle pad, bringing it out and putting it on the horses back, then went back in and grabbed the saddle. She swung it onto the geldings back, straightening it and checking the cinch to see if it would fit the horse. Once she straightened the cinch out, she tightened it (not too tight) then took the halter off and put the bridal back on. "Dont get on yet."

Ahanu 
"I can't anyway," he shrugged. The gelding seemed completely indifferent to it all, which was encouraging seeing as Ahanu would soon be on top of him. 

Charity
Charity quickly groomed and tacked up her own horse, then tightened both of the cinches. "Follow me," she mumbled, starting to lead her horse to a nearby mounting block. She stopped a little ways away from it and looked at Ahanu. "You can use the mounting block. Get up on the left side of the horse. Put your left foot into the stirrup and swing your other leg over while holding the horn and all." She then did basically the same, but without the mounting block.

Ahanu 
He led the gelding over to the mounting block and stepped up onto it. He stared at the saddle a moment, his nervousness returning. After taking yet another deep breath. Ahanu followed Charity's instructions a bit clumsily. Somehow he managed to get on the horse, his heart racing. This is... high off the ground.

Charity watched Ahanu, looking down at his stirrups. "Those are probably fine," she muttered under her breath. "Follow me." She kicked her horse into a walk, who wanted to just run off, but somehow was managable. "You kick the horses sides to make them go, pull on the reigns to make them stop, sit back in the saddle, keep your heels down, yadayada," Charity shrugged.
