Only The Strong Survive

Charity
Charity had started staring at the ground while biting her fingernails in thought. She nodded in reply to Ahanu, her eyes still stuck to the ground.

Ahanu
He nodded to himself and got himself as comfortable as he could. The rats curled up above his head on his pillow. His thoughts drifted absently and his eyes started to drag downward. "G'night," he muttered, barely staying awake. That hadn't taken as long as he had thought it would.

Charity
Charity looked back over at him when he said 'goodnight', watching him as he fell asleep.

Ahanu
One of the rats readjusted itself, accidentally snagging and pulling a strand of hair. Half-asleep, he reached up and untangled her paw. Already slipping back into dreams, a barely audible much less understandable "love you," was spoken in a voice thick with sleep. It was an old habit born from many years of saying it to his parents before bed.

Charity
Charity tilted her head, trying to figure out what Ahanu had said. She felt almost like she had an idea, but she couldn't be sure.

Ahanu
He fell asleep, slipping into pleasant dark. 

Chatity
Charity watched him for a moment, then yawned and went over to her own bed, curling up and falling asleep quickly.

Ahanu 
He hadn't had a nice, dreamless sleep that stayed dreamless in a while. Maybe this time he would. And maybe this time he'd stay asleep until morning. The rats were comfy up by his head, and Ahanu was exhausted so his position was satisfactory.

Auberon
Auberon watched Charity fall asleep, quite content with how it had ended up working out. He laid down on his bed and accidentally fell asleep right away.

Ahanu
The fawn rat woke only to shift position. The gray rat protested the move, and Ahanu almost woke. But his sleep deprivation kept the normally light sleeper from waking.

Rayden
Rayden had been working on a new formula for almost four hours straight, not realizing he hadn't eaten or socialized with anybody during that time. He found himself almkst falling asleep in his chair, if which was actually more comfirtable than he thought.

Jade
The window was now relatively clean. The outside was still a mess, but she would have to do that later. She poked her head out the door. "Alex, get in here, you need sleep. I'll go sit on the roof or something and keep watch."

Bryan
 Bry laid awake, staring up at the crack-ridden ceiling. His mind was buzzing with things to think about, but his tiredness kept it all away, and he eventually slipped into a decent sleep.

(Next day I guess)
Auberon
Auberon woke up, his head throbbing slightly. Well, this is a great way to start a day, he thought, grumbling a few choice words before sitting up and healing his headache. He ran his fingers through his hair in an attempt to fix it (it normally worked- at least in his opinion), then rubbed his face.

Jade
She slid off the roof of the cabin, her joints upset at her for not having moved much during the night. After one more cursory glance around, checking for zombies, she stooped and cleared an area of leaves. Dragging some stones over, she created a ring, outside of which she stacked wood. Taking small branches and shavings, Jade started a fire. Soon it was of decent size, and Jade began cooking breakfast. 

Ahanu
He woke, turning toward the door of the hut and blinking in surprise. Morning. He hadn't slept that long for who-knew-how-long. His rats gave indignant squeaks as he straightened, tumbling from their position curled up in his hair. Ahanu ran his hand through the mess, sighing and throwing it into a ponytail. He would have to deal with it later.
