Only The Strong Survive

Ahanu 
A myriad of colors swirled behind his eyes, the sound of his parents' voices filling his mind with gibberish. But he missed them, so he wasn't planning on objecting. 

Auberon
Auberon made sure Ahanu was comfortable, then turned to Charity. "You should probably get some rest too," he mumbled, satisfied when she nodded and flopped down on her bed. Yay I have everyone sleeping this is a memorable day for me. I will mark that on my mental calendar.

Ahanu
Everything faded to black and then Ahanu came to. Confusion splattered across his features. When had he gone to bed? What was going on? Man, he was tired... Wait, he'd been with Charity. What in the world...?

Auberon
Auberon looked over at Ahanu when he was informed he had woken up. "No... go back to sleep please you need it and it will really brighten my day," Auberon begged.

Ahanu 
"When did I go to sleep? What time is it? Where's Charity?" 

Auberon
"You just now passed out, I dunno what time it is, and Charity is sleeping too because she also needs it."

Ahanu
"Oh. Okay. Is it night?" He was too tired to look, and also determined not to sleep until nightfall.

Auberon
"Ah- close to," Auberon replied.

Ahanu
He started to sit up, pausing at the light-headedness. It faded and he sat up fully. "I'll wait until it's dark." Ahanu sent an uncertain smile toward Auberon.

Auberon
Auberon scowled at him. "You dare ruin my day you little twerp."

 Ahanu
"Wha- no, I wasn't trying to - You see I kind of - sorry." He glanced at the rats who were laying on his lap. "I just want to make it until dark so I can get a full night sleep. Otherwise I just wake up a few minutes later."

Auberon
"You are so nice it bothers me. Stop being nice," Auberon grumbled. "Fine. Do what you want."

Ahanu
Nice? Ha. Just way too worried about making people mad. "I wouldn't mind sleeping, but I don't want to wake up right away. I don't like taking sleeping pills, but I'm a really light sleeper. So usually it has to be night, since it's the most quiet then."

Auberon sat down on his bed and listened to Ahanu go on. "Why are you explaining this to me when I've already told you to go do whatever?" he questioned.

Charity
Charity sighed and opened her eyes, looking at Auberon, then over Ahanu. She stirred and rolled onto her stomach, watching the two quietly.

Ahanu 
"Because I, uh, no, you - yeah, I don't know." He shrugged and pet the fawn rat.
