Trakehner Club

#116816 Posted on 2017-08-05 06:33:43

Howdy guys, since I really have no way of sending out a mass message to you all here I am :3 How are things going for everyone?
I'm super excited about the club and can't wait to get started, until then I thought each person could list their goals of they wanted to and their perfect Trakehner color/gen/confo combination, or whatever makes your heart pitter patter when thinking of future trakes in your lines.

My main line is made up of 64 horses and are specialized in dressage. I did end up using lots of credits and marking randomized about half of the herd. So we are going to have some nice colored and marked babies in the future. My fav would be any kind of roan, even if its not a fancy color. Roan plus tobiano is heavenly, and I'm sure on a baby with nice stats and a few pedigrees under its belt would be perfect. I love smokey black and smokey cream horses.
Just picked up some show jumpers with double dilutes don't know what I'm going to do with them yet? Maybe we can do a raffle "a pair of trakes" or something.
I'd like to say that I'll stay doing dressage with my Trakes because it's just so classy,  but I like to think of Endurance on here as three day eventing, so I may eventually do some Endurance Trakes as well  :)

I just grab whatever unwanted dressage Trakehner I can get, but I would really like to start a line of TT Trakes. I just love the look of tobiano on them, Black with Tobiano being my favorite.

I'm also working on a dressage line (7 horses currently; working on purchasing that final breeding pair), with goals of clean lines and low non-specialties. I've had great luck so far.

I'd really like to get some nice RnRn and TT lines, chromed out if possible. I like blazes in Trakes, but not so much the white face.

I am currently starting a new conformation project! It may be slow progress as I am starting with 59+ foundations but I'm hoping to make some high confo horses! It will definitely be a challenge but i am looking forward to it! I am less focused on color.... though I will admit quite a few of mine have had marking/coat randomizers added. All will be trained in dressage as this is what I focus on in real life.

My favorite coats are definitely smoky black or anything with roan!

I currently have 24 foundation Trakehners who just got shifted from show jumping to dressage.  Tobiano with Black or Smoky Black are my favorite combo.  I'm going to focus on building stats and tackling boosting conformation over the generations.

I currently have 30 Foundation Trakehners (10 Stallions, 20 Mares). All of them have pretty high conformation for Foundations (high 50s, some low 60s). All but 7 have either cream, roan, tobiano, or some combo.

I'm currently specializing in Show Jumping with them, just because I happen to like Show Jumping.

My goals are mainly high conformation, followed by good stats for Show Jumping, and lastly color. My 'ideal' is 1 Cream Gene plus Roan & Tobiano. I love the way Roan + Tobiano looks on Trakehners.

Hi my name is Couragereins and i'm new.
I adore trakes but do not know what to do with them .  Was thinking about jumping, western and endurance. I would love to breed to develop unusual colours.  I know I have a long way to go as i'm only at level 3.  Any help would be much appreciated!

my perfect trake would be:

  • 0 non-specialty stats

  • clean pedigree that's as short as possible

  • roan and/or tobiano

  • cream gene (but not cremello or perlino)

  • good or better confo (at least 60+)

Couragereins, I'd suggest doing show jumping or dressage with your trakes, as those are the two most popular disciplines. You don't have to, of course, but you might have more trouble selling foals or finding a stud if you choose an atypical discipline. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions :)
