have you heard?

Everyone here probably plays this game because they love horses right, so most of you probably know of the movie Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. Well I just learned that they're making a show based of it called Spirit: riding free that's going to be airing on Netflix. From what I can tell it seems far from the movie but has good potential to be a good show in my opinion, I for one am excited to see the show which is supposed to come out this year. what are your guys thoughts on it

Yeah I heard but it is kinda a bummer mainly because the so called Spirit does not look like the Spirit I know. It is also a bummer because there is none of the original characters.

I don't think I'd have the patience to see it.
That horse just isn't the Spirit I grew up with, and I loved the ending to the movie. I kind of wish they left the story alone. The point was that he lived free with his herd, and it was concluded that he just wasn't meant to live around humans.
I'm sure if I was a lot younger than I am now I would love this show, but it's impossible for me now.

I understand that i loved the movie and always will, I wish they would of just made a sequel to the movie where they left off but that's never going to happen. But I still have to give the show a shot, if I don't I'll just end up always wondering how good or bad it is but it does seems like a good show from what I saw of the trailer.

I'm not thrilled with it. Granted, as an adult... I probably shouldn't care. However, the show just doesn't fit the movie. It's taking the 'can't be trained' horse...and making it your basic stable horse. The show looks to be nothing like the movie, so they should have just made it some stable pals show instead, or something of that nature, or make it about Spirit's son or daughter.

I do want to see it but I will have to agree with SilverWovles the did make the "untameable stallion" and turned him into a stable horse WHAT?? I mean come on people from what I have seen of the trailer Spirit does not even look like the Spirit in the movie. Also I don't get how the girl trained him and tamed him really it really confuses me.

yea but if you think about it every show that's made from a movie is never going to be the same as the movie it was made from there's always going to be differences, be it the characters or the plot it's self but in this case both. But I do get where they should of left spirit as the unbreakable, they could of easily made a show of his daughter instead, but I guess they where trying to keep spirit as the main character which I completely understand that.

Also another thing is that the movie took place in the wild west but now it looks like it is in modern time

No thank you! I'd rather this be a movie about Spirit, Rain, their son or daughter, and their herd! Something where his colt or filly gets into trouble, such as perhaps gets his/herself captured, and Spirit and Rain have to find their Lakota friend (Rain's old owner) to help them rescue their foal. Or something like that. :/

I agree Feathered Gold I would much rather watch something like that and another thing that confuses me is that the movie took place in the western times and now it looks like modern times.

After doing loads of research on it, via multiple official websites, social media, etc. I've found that it is not meant to be a sequel. They describe it as 'Spirit re-imagined' and 'inspired by 2002's Spirit'.

But, I still don't like it nonetheless. I will probably watch the first episode, just to see what they do. But, at the moment it looks like a show I won't be interested in. It seems to be mostly aimed at younger audiences. While the movie could appeal to anyone. I actually love the movie even more so now as an adult; than I did as a kid. Which I didn't even think was possible at the time.

What has me really frustrated is these three things.
1.The animation won't be the same type as the original. It looks like pretty poor animation; compared to what I usually see from both Dreamworks and Netflix.
2.The horses might be able to talk. Which really is a bummer as one of the reasons Spirit is one of my favorite movies; is in part due to the fact they don't talk. It's mostly body language, herd behaviors, expressions, etc. Plus Spirit (Matt Damon) narrating.
3. The herd and Rain won't be appearing in it. This of course, is something I heard from someone and appears to be true. Although, at the same time I'm almost happy they won't be in it; just in case this series is a total flop.

Of course, I won't judge anyone who watches it and likes it. This is just my opinion.
