Morgan Breeders Help?!

#94064 Posted on 2017-02-19 11:34:46

I just snagged a few Morgans. I have never bred them before so, naturally, I have have a few questions.

1. Popular colors vs. Rare colors. Which market is smaller?

2. How does Silver and Dun change a horse's worth?

3. What is their most common specialty?

4. Are Morgan breeders looking for certain colors?

If you hurry to the RC, I just put a bunch of nice morgan foundies in there..assorted discplines..

The most common colours are bay, black n chestnut..
Rarer colour would be the cream dilutes like smokey creams, cremellos etc and anything with ff or ZZ

If your horse has silver or flaxen, they are definitely more desirable..

The most common specialty seems to be western. After that would be dressage and show jumping..

I dont know about other Morgan breeders but Im always loving the cream dilutes...and if they have ff or ZZ...thats even better...There are a handful of seal brown and seal brown creams in the game too..I love them

Thank you Windspun :D :D I'm excited about this. I'll have 6 breeds when I'm done. 2 in Western (appies and morgans), 2 in dressage (friesians and Andalusians), 1 in racing (arabians), and 1 in driving (gypsy vanners) :D
