I've moved around a lot recently. I'm from New England, went to school there, then after graduation I moved to Brazil for 2 years with my husband. There I was an English teacher at a couple of private schools. We just moved back to the US and came to the Midwest fir his job. I have degrees in International Relations and Spanish, and I really want to work in international education, like study abroad or with international students here, but I keep getting rejections letters from everywhere I apply :( In the meantime, I'm a part-time manager at a well-known retail store that sells lotions, candles, etc.

Besides that, I don't like the midwest much :/ don't really know anyone here and its hard making friends when you're married but dont have kids yet. So its just us and our cats we brought back from Brazil with us. In my free time I work out at the gym a lot and cook. I'm trying to save money to start taking lessons and lease a horse again (I used to have three horses) but its rough with my hourly wage.

All these career and career plans sound so interesting!

I'm currently a senior secondary student, with hopes to continue onto 6th form or community college. I'm currently studying the sciences, with the hopes to go to university to become a neuropsychologest, which, funny enough, the university for which I plan to go to doesn't even require me to have any science to gain a bachelors in psychology.

I placed an application for the united world colleges, with the hopes to do my final two high-school years in one of the international colleges. I may not be really able to afford too, but just getting accepted at the very least would be fine for me, even if i couldn't go.I do however, really want to live, or just study, somewhere out of the Caribbean, which is where I live. I mainly want to travel to get new experiences and hopefully learn to speak fluently in a second language, and as such, I personally would love to live in a country that doesn't speak English.

I currently do ride twice a week, which I love, and am also a member of my school's science and environmental club. In case you couldn't guess, I like science, lol.

Meadowlarke, I do not have a focus on any Civilization because they all seem important to me, but I told an army recruiter once that I would TOTALLY sign up for a Stargate program if they had one, LOL!

I currently work as a kindergarten teacher, teaching 3 & 4 year old kids. I used to love my work, but with the way kids and parents behave these days I would love to be able to switch careers. People should get permits before they are able to reproduce...
The paperwork is horrible, and now policy has changed and we now also have to teach special needs children without being receiving any extra help or training. It's crazy.
However, I have tenure and a nice pay check, so it is too risky to give that up and look for a new job.

I'm studying to become a herbalist. It takes 3 years to get my degree, but it is so interesting! I love it. I hope to eventually start a small business in herbal remedies. Also reading up on soap making, so I could eventually make my own all natural & organic herbal soaps.
After those three years I'll either start Spanish lessons or go to the arts academy.

I'm also a foster mom for stray kittens. During kitten season the other foster moms & me take in litters to socialize, chip, vaccinate, spay & neuter before adopting them out again. We re-home over 100 kittens a year. Feral mother cats that can not be socialized or adopted are spayed and given medical attention and then we put them back where we found them.

Last but not least I am turning our old garden into an ecological garden with medicinal herbs, animal friendly plants & fruit trees.
I'm doing it all myself and on a budget, so it is a long project.
Little by little I'm removing the old trees and bushes that offer zero ecological value and replacing them with locally occurring plants that offer food to insects, squirrels, birds... and fruits for me so I can make my own jams and liquors :p
Last year we planted several berry bushes, raspberries, blackberries, hazelnuts and cherries.
I started preparing a vegetable patch last summer, so this year we can start growing our own food, all from organic seeds. This summer I'll start removing part of the lawn so that next year we can replace it with a tiny natural flower meadow offering even more food and shelter for bees, butterflies etc...
I'm also growing wild rose bushes from seeds I harvested myself. These will be used to create a cool, secluded sitting area in the back of the garden.
All of this without a drop of pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers.

In the future I also want to add a natural pond and clay oven.
I wish I could look into the future and see what it looks like in 10 years :p

During the winter months I read, crochet, knit, color, draw...

Love the diversity of us all!

I got a degree in biochemistry and planned to become a pharmacist but after 5 years of being a pharmacy technician I realized it's not what I wanted to do. I stumbled upon a program in medical technology and now I'm a clinical laboratory scientist. Most people don't know what that is. We basically do all the testing. I'm in the hematology lab, so we deal with CBC (complete blood count), urinalysis, coagulation factors to monitor blood thinners, and we look at people's blood under the microscope to see if they have cancer cells or immature cells. Kinda hard to explain.

I just started horse back riding 2 weeks ago, just learning how to post the trot. I only ride once a week but I love it. I started an art instagram account (cdomin29), which has motivated me to work on improving my art.

@feline - Aw that's awesome how you foster stray kittens. I want to foster but I know I wouldn't be able to give any pets away and I'd prob become a hoarder.

I'm currently in a different country, an island called St. Kitts, in my first semester of vet school.

I think this is a cool board because I just came here to post and rant about vet school and see if anyone is in the same boat as me. I'm currently 24 y/o and I graduated high school back in 2011. Going to college was never a question, in my family it's an expectation, but I had no clue what I wanted to do. I've always had a dream of what I wanted to start, but never really knew how to get there. So naturally I was easily persuaded by my family into a major. They chose pharmacy for me. Pharmacists make a lot of money and I guess they had really good intentions and just wanted to see me be well off. I did fine in it for two years, but suddenly realized my university had an animal science option with a pre-vet track and then that became all I wanted to do. So I switched my major and graduated with a B.S in Agriculture with a major in Animal Science back in May of 2015. Took a year and a half off and managed a private farm of some guy who has no business whatsoever owning any sort of animal. I had lost my drive after I graduated school. It took me a while to get back on track, but mainly it was what I had to deal with working for this !~@#. Lol

So I applied in September for vet school and on January first I was in a new country as an official vet student. It's still pretty surreal. Very stressful. And time is going by way too fast. Today marks the mid-semester. So I'm almost done. I'm worried about my grades tbh, I feel like I'm struggling here. But I know that's just a regular characteristic of vet school. I'm not alone.

Anyways....sorry for the long rant lol
I'm feeling some type of way tonight. xD

I'm a HS student planning to go into either Music or Large Animal Veterinary Science (with an emphasis on Equine Studies).

I am a "first chair" clarinet player and have a competition this Saturday to determine whether or not I'm going to state for it! c:

I'm also involved in several clubs, doing with Science, Art, Band, Theatre, Leadership (FFA), and school in general. I also play soccer, trapshoot, and enter many things through FFA c:

I'm a CNA(Certified Nursing Assistant)

I recently graduated and passed state as a CNA and am working a lot of hours, but in my spare time I like playing games and role playing. I use to be into doing art on here and adoptables but I don't really have the time right now.
I might be planning on going for my LPN (Licensed Practitioner Nurse) and possibly RN, if not I may try and go for Occupational Therapy Assistant or stay a CNA and maybe do home health care.

I'm married, and plan to maybe start a family at the end of the year hopefully once careers get straightened out.

I also run anime/sci fi conventions with my family sometimes. I also am trying to get into LARPing(Live Action Role Playing)

This is over a month old but why not eh?
I work at an periodontist office right now and do a lot of things with the insurance. Since some of the treatment is considered oral surgery, a lot of times I have to check dental insurances, as well as medical. With the loop holes they can both be a pain in the butt. My little boy turns 4 in a few weeks. My husband and I are both involved with our church. He teaches the 5&6 graders Sunday school class, and I assist the high school youth SS class and sing in the choir.

I joined back at my gym in Jan, to feel better about myself again. Been working my butt off and I am back to feeling slightly better at 155lb and 20% BF. To me its not really about losing weight, which everyone gets so bent out of shape about. Moreso about putting on the muscle baby :) My husband hates how 'ripped' women look so there is that struggle. I want really thick quads/hamstrings and abs, basically I want to be a unicorn. I want to get down to at least 16% but my husband wants to try to have a little girl.

We still play video games XD About the only other thing we have time for is playing on our laptop/desktop Diablo III together a few nights a week.
