'Missing' foal

#91808 Posted on 2017-02-08 16:20:01

Hello!

I used a broodmare to breed a foal and the owner of the mare accidentally used a Gestation Rush on her. Now the foal is born, but while I can find her through her parents, she herself does not show up anywhere on my pages, and the division she's supposedly in is one from the mare's owner.

The horse in question

Thank you!

This should be fixed for future foals bred through broodmares :) I've moved the foal linked in your post in your Unassigned.

This happened to me just today :(

This foal is out of someone's brood mare, and it isn't in my account nor can I find it without remembering which stallion I bred to the mare and looking under his list of foals. I have another foal somewhere, but can't for the life of me remember which horse I bred with another broodmare, so I can't find the other foal at all.

Stratch above. I still have control over the foal so if I move it into one of my divisions I have it back, however I still can't find the other foal .

I also bred my stallion to this broodmare, and the gestation time is up. I can't find the foal anywhere! I can't access it from my stallion, from their mare, and I don't see it anywhere on either of our pages. It's so weird! It's almost as if it doesn't exist.

@Gypsy - the foal should be in your division now, I'm not sure what happened but it said it still had 4 days until birth. I will see if there's a bug that will stop foals from progressing.

Hello! I also have a ghost foal. Bred my stud Purgatory ( http://equiverse.com/horse.php?id=475009 ) to Demure's broodmare Incantation (http://equiverse.com/horse.php?id=461480)

She was supposed to give birth today. She's no longer pregnant but the foal doesn't even appear in her or my stud's foal list.

Hmm. Are any of you locking the divisions that your stallions are in? Foals are automatically on your account after breeding (just "hidden" by pregnancy) and are also automatically assigned to the division of your stallions.

If you lock that division at all, the foal also gets locked and therefore doesn't age. As the mare is on a different account, it shows the pregnancy as progressing but the foal won't appear on your account until it's gone through its own 5 days.

In short, I've found the foals, but they all still have 2-3 days still to come out, so I'm just wondering if their division is being locked.

Aaaaaah Ok. That makes sense.

The the stud has been locked because he's "20 aging tomorrow", and I was hoping to get another breeding from him in about 2 weeks from a different mare when she hits the age her owner wants. O.O Hmmm I'll switch up my plans and breed a different mare then so I can keep him unlocked.

I imagine that's the snafu other stud owners are running into as well - they have a stud they want to get more than 1 foal out of, but don't want him to age out.

So if I unlock the division, move him to a different division that can stay unlocked, the ghost foal should follow him to the new division and in 2-3 days appear?

Thanks Abbey!

If you move him to a different division, I don't believe the foal will follow him like it would its mother, so you could unlock it, move him to a separate division and just lock him there? I'll try to figure out some other way of handling that though, maybe I could just leave foals out of divisions - at least they'd be easy to find there as well.
